Just got takeaways tonight - chicken kadai and paneer jalfrezi and they were both superb! Kiwi-hot and they were both nice and spicy. Delicious light onion bahji too. Best curry in hataitai for sure.
Best curry I think I've ever had. CERTAINLY the best curry place in Hataitai by a long shot, everything tastes actually fresh and stupidly yummy. Would lay down my life for this man (the chef).
Love the food! It isn't like the other Indian food places around town, it's simple with no fake color and is full of taste! Personal favorites - Palak Chicken, chicken Dhan Sak and the Biryani, still have to try other things :)
The food is always delicious, the service is friendly and welcoming and they always listen to your order carefully. It's a family favourite and we eat here almost every week.
Stopped in today for an impromptu butter chicken and chicken tikka. Service was excellent, they were welcoming and friendly. I asked for kiwi hot butter chicken and medium tikka. They were both ready pretty quick and you can see the chef working right in front of you if you are at the counter which is cool. The tikka was nicely presented on a bit of vege and was smokey and tender with great flavour. The butter chicken was also nice, at kiwi hot it had tang but not too much to overpower the flavours. I would stop in again for a curry and would recommend that you try this spot - good all round.
Amazing and authentic Indian food - the owner is lovely and always gives us complimentary poppadoms. Always fast service. Highly recommend.
Second time getting takeout here - food absolutely fantastic quality both times. Think they can be a little bit slow when busy as it’s a lean operation, just one or two guys doing all the cooking, orders, cleaning etc. don’t know what the criticism I’m another review is about re for 20 bucks getting one container with rice and flavour ingredients / we get for less than 20 bucks per meal 2 plastic containers, one with the rice and one full of the curry - meat and vegetables (where relevant). Great tasting well cooked food.
Arguably the best Indian Takeaways in Wellington (and I’ve tried plenty of places)! The guy can come across slightly abrupt, but once you get to know him he is very friendly and means well. I would highly recommend!

The food is absolutely incredible. Probably one of the best in welly. Always friendly. I call in my order and it's usually ready on time. He's usually running the whole place himself so be kind!
Food is great for the price which is slightly less than other places. The rice was fresh - wasn't microwaved or reheated.
Service is now a lot more friendly ( maybe cos his wife was working with him this time - upping the spice level 😅) Prices have been updated on the shop window too.
*Malai kofta has like a 'Tandoori' base flavour not the 'Korma' base flavour (For those who prefer tomato based versions).
He’s just misunderstood, has a firm and effective voice, not yelling. Food was a wee bit salty though however his customer service was not. Big up my man 👍
Best curry in wellington, hands down. Can take abot longer, but it's genuine. None of the pocketed flavorings used at other stores.

Owner / operator will have your order cook to perfection. Stay away from ordering through MenuLog, especially delivery, it never arrived. Help line ran by botsvthat aren't programmed for logic.
Best Indian in Hataitai, cooked mine super hot as I like it, and cooked my child's choice with no chilli at all so he could enjoy it. Very kid freindly
