Amazing atmosphere and great look from top to bottom. Attentive service from the start did relax a little towards the end. Great price range, something for everyone, don't have to break the bank to have a beautiful meal.
4.5 stars
We went to Master Kong in February for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We had a great time. The food and service were great. There were four of us, so we decided to try Banquet 1. We were not disappointed. We planned to try Banquet 2 next time. 😁
We ordered entree, mains, desserts and coctails and we were not disappointed. All had delish flavours but standout was beef tātaki, beef short ribs with duckfat rice and the sizzling banana caramel dessert. Ambience was great staff on the night were chill and helpful.
Master Kong is a great place to go for dinner.
They have a good range of cocktails including taptails, which are a little cheaper but were really tasty.
The small plates are actually pretty big and filling, we got 3 of them between two of us and that was plenty of food. It would be a great place to go with a larger group of people.
I would definitely go back.
I was always a Wagamama fan when it was here and was eager to try Master Kong having heard good things.
The food was flavourful and fiery at times (Firecracker Chicken!!!) 🥵 be careful with that unless you have a serious spice tolerance. I thought I did but was ultimately defeated by this dish.
We went on a Thursday at 4.30 so were able to get $2 dumplings. Don't be shy with these, order a bunch. They come with delicious garnish and sauce (pictured).
The prices for mains are quite steep $25 - $45.
'Taptails' were pretty good as well and nicely presented.
Absolutely amazing! Was a recommendation and so glad I listened to it! It was honestly delicious from the first bite! Even their cocktails were great!
There is a bit of a spicy kick to a lot of their food items, but definitely not a lot. They do warn you on what the spice levels are, but one of our party noticed it on other dishes that weren't labeled with spice levels .
A well laid out and decadent restaurant.
I had chosen a Pork Belly Mee Goreng, it was delicious, the pork was melt in your mouth and the noodles were impeccable in a beautiful sauce.
The price was understandable for the quality of the dish and the atmosphere inside. This was a unique experience that I will be sure to enjoy again.
Service was very fast. From table allocated through to our entrée & mains on our table - 16 minutes. Only a quarter through my beer before food arrived! Helpful waiters. Very moody atmosphere, perfect to start to a night out with wifey. Will definitely be back again soon.
We can't resist a good flambé & the flambé banana with latik coconut caramel & ice cream at Master Kong is perfectly decadent. We've been several times now - for drinks, small bites, lunch, dinner, with a group, as a couple - always knowing to expect a varied Asian-fusion menu & consistently good food. Pictured include the excellent Korean Fried Cauliflower, spicy jackfruit bao, creamy mushroom dumplings, chili oil edamame & refreshing Kong Lager by Fortune Favours.
Such a great experience at Master Kong. We had the Kongcha and loved the cocktails and food. So yum. We will be back
