Outstanding staff 😊 proper warm & professional while still bringing the bants. The food is ok… I had the falafel that was a bit dry, the hummus wasn’t that fresh and the pita was tough… but the atmosphere is lovely, the place is clean and the drinks are good.
Had a brunch stop off, so it wings very nice (would have been amazing with a blue cheese sauce) chips a little underwhelming, not enough if any salt and were not that warm when they came out, staff were ok, little rushed being Father’s Day so never got the salt we asked for. Huge plus for me was the beers, just my sort of place
Went back for the grazing platter & burgers. All still delicious.
Grazing platter; everything on the platter was tasty. I would definitely go back here. The service was excellent and the food arrived in good time.
Very busy when we were there (1.30pm Sunday), however, quickly served. Great staff and a solid menu. Food was quick, hot, delicious 😋 and reasonably priced. We will be back for dinner
Used to be one of my favourites, but after they revamped it just lost the charm and quirkiness. Now it's really modern bright (if you into that sort of thing) but lacks heart! It could do with warmth, maybe more photos relating to the name, Stables reminds me of beautiful horses, beautiful landscapes etc. Lol just a suggestion. Now the food, I've never had a bad meal at the Stables, always tasteful and well presented. On the night I took this photo it was my wedding anniversary and because we were tired and it was a weeknight we decided to go to the Stables for a hearty meal, but I was just a little dissapointed with my lambshank. Although very tastefull and beautifully done it was small with not enough of the meat. My husband had the Beef and Guinness potpie and it was fantastic, he really enjoyed it. Such a beautiful venue and little village in a beautiful area, still absolutely worth paying a visit!!
Overall rating 82/100
A nice quiet pub serving really good fare in a quiet area of Auckland suburbs.
I went for the fish and chips, which were cooked nicely, and had a nice balance between being filling and yet not too heavy.
Other dishes appeared well portioned, and it appeared that presentation was key at this venue.
Additionally, an extensive wine list and great selection of tap beers and ales.
Would return!
we tried this place first time approx 1 month ago. Ever since the first visit, this place became our weekly routine. It's that good. Both dinner and brunch menu is excellent, super friendly service and very kids friendly (my daughter love their kids combo). I'm sure we will continue visit here more. Perhaps the only complaint is we wish there's more mocktail selection for the non-alcoholic drinkers :)
Finally a great place to eat in our area. It has changed hands many times and the current owners deserve to be very successful. Plenty of space to keep your distance in the current situation, especially at lunchtime, great service, great menu and excellent food. An A grade certificate. Easy wheelchair access and dog friendly.
There is an Express lunch menu for $14.50 with lunch sized portions as well as a brunch and full menu. All reasonable.
The coffee was perfect. Not a trace of bitterness.
I can recommend their pizza but will be back for the beef and ale pie, english style which my neighbour is still talking about. It has mushy peas and mashed potatoes for those who like to be reminded of England.
We left wanting to come back! Great spot... you can't go wrong and super kid friendly. The staff are just lovely!
Great pub style menu
Excellent range of beverages and food and drink prices great.
Warm friendly atmosphere
Thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience
