The best service! People are really friendly and food are great! Would love to visit again
We stopped by John Hill Estate winery recently. We each enjoyed a white wine flight as well as a Vineyard Selections Charcuterie board which had a wide variety of meats, fish, cheeses, crackers, pickled vegetables, etc. The service was excellent and the views were lovely. The Sauvignon Blanc was our favorite and we bought a bottle to take away. This is a lovely spot worth stopping by to enjoy the lovely dining room and enjoy outstanding service, lovely wines and excellent food.
The food was good. My family and I tried quite a number of dishes like the beef steak, beef steak with egg, the chicken, the burger and pasta. We also tasted the red wine. The beef steak at medium was not too chewy and enjoyable even without any additional sauces, however the size of the steak was a tad small. The chicken was interesting with the salsa on it. The burger was pretty decently sized big and the patty was soft and moist. Pasta was good and portion was definitely more filling than the steak.
The service staff were very friendly. They got us seated us despite us arriving about approx 30 mins ahead of schedule. The waitress was all smiles and she did her best to get our drink orders before getting us the food menus.
Do be prepared to wait for your food! We waited over an hour for our food. There was a crowd there when we were there. If you’re headed there, do go there in advance to order so that by the time the food arrive it wouldn’t be too hungry.

I have been here many times for lunch , dinner and activities with friends and family and this place always exceeds my expectations.
The staff are always so welcoming and the drive is amazing with a beautiful scenery drive. Easy location to find and lots of parking .
Our most recent visit we had lunch and it was delicious, we had entre of taco , fries and oysters, the oysters were so delicious we had to order more. For mains we had pizza and burgers and it was satisfying. Reasonable prices for the food and drinks.
We also did archery and clay shooting which was so much fun. The wine tasting was the highlight for us , we had a taste of their reds and whites and wow! we couldnt decide which one we like the most so we bought a bottle of each wine to take home 😂 .. I mean why not!

Delicious meal and nice atmosphere - I would go again! My partner had the burger and really enjoyed it (I tried a few fries and they were yum) and I had the puttanesca spaghetti, which was really fresh and well balanced. The serving staff were very friendly and the puddings delicious. What a treat to find this lovely place in almost the middle of nowhere !
We really recommend this place! The venue is beautiful, with a really nice terrace-style seating area overlooking at the vineyards. The food was superb, we tried the pork scalopini and the curry; which were both delicious. Also good selection of starters and desserts, we were really happy with our lunch and the service received.
Lovely place to visit and try some of their estate grown wines, especially the Cabernet Franc! It's well worth the drive or if you're going to Hunua Falls it's only a few mins away! Didn't have a chance to try their food but definitely will do next time.
Very impressed in the team and John Hill estate- our servers the owner made us feel very welcome- thank you we had a lovely time we didn't want to leave- we will contact you to order wine.
We went there today a bus load of 48 people. The wine, food but more importantly the staff were amazing.
