Greeted by a very friendly front of house and beautiful decor. The fit out from honey bones is intentional and classy, from the hanging light over the shared table to the trim of the counter. Coffee was unmistakable. Ordered the 'full bones' and literally was licking the plate afterwards. An awesome rendition of a classic 'big breakfast'. Ultimately the best cafe experience in Auckland as of late

Sunday brunch is one of life's little gems. Wake up late on a Sunday, mosey on over to a cafe and wind in the afternoon with a spot of coffee and egg based delight.

Came here at 11am and there was a bit of a crowd waiting outside and for good reason. The food is good. Real good. You won't find a benny on this menu, but instead a brunch unlike anything else you've had. The merguez plate was awesome. Punchy flavours and just enough heat to wake you up. Coffee was strong and the service was faultless. Wait time to get a table was around 20min which is no fault of the place but something to keep in mind.

Had been wanting to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint! We ordered a flat white, a chai, shared the West Lynn smoothie, and ordered the cilbir eggs and smashed pumpkin. The coffee was great and the chai wasn’t too sweet. The smoothie had a delicious chocolate, banana and peanut butter flavour and the presentation was beautiful. The pumpkin smash was creamy, rich and comforting while the cilbir eggs were more of a fresh taste, with the chilli oil and dill complementing the Greek yoghurt perfectly. Both portions were super generous and very filling. Will definitely be back to try other menu items!

Cosy café with beautiful interior decor. Friendly staff and great service. Honey bones is small, but has seating that spills out onto the footpath. Perfect for summer.
The granola I ordered was delicious, the perfect amount of sweet and sour (from the passionfruit). Beautifully presented. Will for sure be back to try more of the menu. Coffee was excellent also

It is super busy when you want to go for breakfast/brunch on a Sunday. We ordered the Istanbul Scrambled, Halloumi Bowl and The Full Bones. This place is definitely one of those Instagram cafes! The Scrambled was so creamy and the cauliflower gave it that extra kick. The Halloumi Bowl was hella healthy for me but it was pretty good, the poached egg was runny and cooked to perfection. Every bit of The Full Bones was delicious! Wished they gave an extra or two of the hash ball 😋😋 9/10

This place is such a little gem. Very friendly staff. Good menu, great presentation. Had the Spanish sardines. They were tasty little fish and were great on the bread and with the poached egg.

Tucked away on Richmond Road, on first glance, Honey Bones doesn’t look like much more than another minimalist hipster cafe. Yet I’m going to go ahead and say that this unassuming joint is home to some of the BEST brunch dishes in all of Auckland.

The menu may be concise, yet it’s still hard to decide what to get here as every option sounds mouth-wateringly good. Everything on the menu is Middle Eastern inspired, which might explain why I love this place so much- Middle Eastern food is my all-time favorite.

On my first visit, I ordered was the smashed pumpkin on toast. Firstly- why have I never seen this on a menu before? Don’t get me wrong, I love smashed avo on toast as much as the next millennial, but seeing it one every single cafe menu gets pretty boring. I love that Honey Bones has decided to go against the status quo and smash a different veggie on toast. I never ever would have thought to top rye bread with fluffy whipped feta, smashed pumpkin, candied hazelnuts, crispy kale and Dukkah, but boy did it make for a fantastic flavor and texture combination. I literally cannot fault this dish, the flavours and textures were nothing short of perfection. 10/10

The next dish I tried on my intimate visit were the zesty zucchini fritters, which came with mint and pickled cucumber salad, lime labneh, paprika oil and a poached egg on top. To be honest, I was a little skeptical of ordering the dish as I find fritters to be so hit and miss. I’m so glad we did order them as they were absolutely flipping delicious! The fritters themselves were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and each individual element on the plate worked together to create a perfect balance of flavor. 9.5/10

On my next visit, I went with the scrambled eggs with feta, spiced cauliflower and labneh on Turkish pide. They pretty much had me at Turkish pide. The scrambled eggs were insanely silky and the added texture of the cauliflower and the flavour punch of the feta elevated this dish to a whole other level. The portion size was so generous I had to get my dad to help me polish it off! 8/10

I also tried some of my mum’s steel-cut bircher muesli. This was not your average bircher. Not only did it look like a work of art but it tasted like a work of art. I find bircher can be a bit gluggy but the steel-cut oats made for a really good texture. The coconut flavour was strong and the prevalence fruits and nuts added a new excitement to each bite. 8.5/10

Honestly, the food here is simply out of this world and I couldn’t recommend it more. This place really is the bees knees 🐝

Such a gorgeous little cafe on the corner in the west Lynn shops, amazing to get a seat outside in the sun. Good coffee and the food never disappoints the Smashed Pumpkin and Feta, The Cilbir Eggs and the Zucchini Fritters are a fav! Can be quite a wait for food especially when it’s busy but definitely worth it.

Dropped in here during a weekday morning. Service was ok. Steady stream of regulars were coming in to get coffee to go so that held up my order a bit. My coffee was very nice. Ordered the pancake, and while it was nice, it really needed maybe some maple syrup and/or more berry coulis to balance out the dryness a bit more. Aside from that I left a happy camper.

Lovely breakfast spot in Grey Lynn. Great atmosphere and food. The place was packed, very vibrant. We went for scrambled eggs on a toast with a long black. What else can you ask for a Saturday breakfast? 🙏❤️

We visited yesterday for the first time, all the way from Dunedin. My oat latte was amazing and nice and hot. Pretty latte art! Food was so unique, dishes that we haven't seen before. We had the mushrooms, salmon meal and the waffles. Incredible food and loved the vibe!

MERGUEZ & ZUCCHINI FRITTERS - must have dishes here. The merguez had the most delicious sausage rolled in the middle, complimented with roast potatos and flavoured with Mediterranean spices. The zucchini fritters were battered and fried in a ball shape. Served on a salad with a beautiful dip. Coffee was Supremes which was strong and delicious. The atmosphere was great and very busy.

Busy but nice, halloumi bowl was delicious and so was the ricotta pancake, smoothie was a little bland sadly and I’d love to see a proper vegan section on your menu please instead of “ask the staff” Also I had to ask staff for pricing of cabinet food as not labeled. Food was the highlight and I can see why it is a popular spot

We came here after the Grey Lynn markets and seeing people wait outside made us even more curious to try it out for our Brunch. The wait was around 45mins but worth the Wait!! Our oatmilk latte & Mocha was just PERFECT! The Menu is turkish fusion, our server was very sweet & great in making sure what we wanted. We had the Istanbul Scrambled eggs & Ricotta Pancake which was very yummy & filling. I would like to give a shoutout to the team, even being so busy they look after every customer very nicely with a smile :) I had initially ordered the platter but later had requested for the pancake instead, the staff was kind and took care of my request. Really appreciate that. Food & Customer service is great. Definitely recommend this cafe.

Bit of a wait on a public holiday, we had to put our name down and come back. Worth the wait though! Food was great, staff were friendly. Great little brunch spot. Coffee is a little bit slow, our food arrived first. But great coffee!

Very interesting place. Great recipes, nice balance. Chefs certainly put their heart and soul into the dishes. Ive ordered Mergez, inspired by classical Istanbul breakfasts, with lamb sausage. Great mix, very nice tzatziki. Only reason not 5/5 is that it was a little too fatty. Maybe switching to boil-roast potatoes will lessen the amount of oil. Must try lemonade. Wife tried Istanbul scrambled and that was 4.5/5. Deep fried sage is genius.

Totally loved the Mediterranean/Turkish/Middle Eastern touch of the menu, didn't have to go for another eggs benedict.... The merguez dish was a dream come true, so many flavours and ingredients, great portion, exotic spices, good sausage! Also the haloumi dish was a great mix of eastern flavours, the egg alone was exciting and the cheese the real thing. Plenty of food. The flat white was excellent as well, honestly haven't had such great coffee in a cafe for a long time. Lots of nice staff around, thanks!

flavours!! Delicious little spot for brunch. The menu was packed full of healthy options. We had the halloumi salad and kumara on toast, both portions were super generous and absolutely delicious. 4 stars because they don’t have a toilet!! Had to go to the pub up the road?? Don’t over do it on the sparkling water 😅
