Went on a quiet night. Only customers at the time it looked like they were closed. Service not that great but chips made up for it. Crunchy & well salted. Fish on the expenny side for a takeaway store so had to pass this time round more
I think the other reviews are out dated. The place is nice and clean, the owner is nice as well. Ordered a Giant Burger, 2 snappers and chips and they were all great!

Love Newton Fish and Chippery. The fish portions are large and generous. The batter is crispy and the fish moist. Chips aren't out of this world triple batch cooked but they're good and cheap. Feed yourself well for under $10 here. No hungry pukus.
We are regulars at the Newton Fish & Chippery. The fish is always fresh and of decent size, the chips are never cold, never soggy, never too salty and never over cooked. There can be small variations in portion size but usually pretty standard. Standard-cometetive prices and they never change so you always know what you're going to get. My opinion is you're getting what you pay for. Clean shop.
This is the best fish and chips in Auckland for us. We have tried going local but nothing compares and we keep coming back. Great fish and chips and great service.
We keep coming back here. The chips are normally large, firm and well cooked. Portions are a good size.
The standard fish is tarakihi, which is done well. However, when tarakihi is not available, the substitutes tend not to be so well cooked, or at least a little tired (frozen?).
Lemon wedges are included.
As for the rest, normal take-away.
The place is clean, they actaully answer the phone and have your order ready when they say it will or when you want it ready.

Great food on a cold night. Well cooked chips, lightly battered pineapple fritter and a crisp fish burger. Very enjoyable.
the man seems grumpy, but he is very nice actually. the kumara chips seems burnt, but they are not burnt and so yummy actually. price up recently as everywhere else, but I still think this shop is the best fish n chips shop in the area. their deep fried food doesn't smells like ordinary fish n chips shops deep fried food.

The place has been opened for 20 years and I can see why :) Great fish & chips. The oil that was used was not old and that’s important when you have fish and chips :) The owner of the place is who actually cooked and served us - a genuine guy! Would definitely recommend this place and will come back again 👌

best fish (snapper) and chips in Auckland. I have been a loyal customer for the past 10 years, never disappointed.
This place is great, their burgers are awesome are good sized and are not short with any ingredients. Only been here a couple if times now, but both times have been fantastic. Highly recommend trying them out if you haven't already.

The complete Kiwi f'n'chip experience. Quality food at a reasonable price. The terikihi was the best I've had for quite some time.
