Such a charming small restaurant that serves up an authentic Uyghur flavour, showcases the diversity of food in Auckland is alive. We had the lamb plate and it was grilled perfectly 😋 will come back again
Awesome hybrid of Chinese and middle eastern flavours feat. cumin. But a bit salty.

I was surprised to find an authentic Uyghur cuisine restaurant in Auckland, as it's such a unique cuisine in China. Great for meat lovers~ The uyghur style rice was so aromatic and tasty, must try~ Same to the milk tea, salty instead of sweet, very unique...
First time trying Chinese middle eastern cuisine and this was delightful. The eggplant dish was the winner for me. They deep fried the eggplant so it doesnt get soggy and drenched it with that chili tomato sauce 👌👌 I had to told myself back from getting a second serving!. The lamb kebabs nice and tender. Service/staff wonder even when they were busy. Definitely come here again!
This was my first time where I'm consciously aware of eating Uyghur cuisine and I can say it was a pretty decent experience where the food is good quality soulful food with large portion sizes. Coming at about $18 per person after splitting the bill I would say its worth every penny.
I only managed to take one photo but two of the dishes were already eaten as they were really good. From left to right respectively was the stir fried chilli chicken with potatos, stir fried lamb with cumin and Uygher style Stir fried eggplant. The portion of the chicken with pototos was large and tasted decent but not too spicy, however I wish they could have added more noodles that were hidden at the bottom. The stir fried lamb and eggplant was also amazing and satisfied our oily cravings as you can tell.
Unfortunately I didn't manage to take a photo of the other two dishes we got which I thoroughly enjoyed which was the polo(braised rice with lamb) and the Cho Chura (Uyghur style dumplings). The lamb in the polo had a perfect
balance of sweet and saltiness and the Uyghur was a pleasant hearty twist to the traditional dumplings which I'm used to.
Also would not reccommend coming here in large groups as its a relatively small restaurant and we had to have 2 separate 4 seat tables for 8 people.
All in all I am very satisfied with my Uygher experience and may come back again 8/10 🙂.
Get the eggplant. You won't regret it until you've got sudden cravings next week and the day is ruined until you've got more.
The quality of the food can be hit and miss here. Sometimes extremely hot and crispy, sometimes on its way to being cool and soggy. Nonetheless it has always been tasty.
Authentic Halal restaurant.
The cumin lamb skewers were well spiced and tender, however it can be a little too oily or greasy. The fried lamb dumplings were also very tasty and tender.
Their milk tea is very authentic and tasty as well.
The portions are smaller compared to other Chinese restaurants.
Food: 8/10
Food presentation: 6.5/10

Ambience: 7.5/10
Value for money: 7/10
Price $25 per person
The kawap is incomparable in Auckland, the meat is really fresh and flavour is just right. So is the polo, which is quite authentic. The laghman, hmmm, is still ok, but not as good as before (I have been a regular customer since they launched), some ingredients in laghman has been replaced I reckon. The naan is far below the genuine Uyghur standard.
So obsessed with the food here! I wish I would discovered this place earlier! if you love lamb, this is definitely your must go place!! so much love for their BBQ LAMB SKEWER and cold noodles with bbq lamb !!! Please go try it out if you haven’t
This place serves authentic Ughyur food, which is also very similar to Middle Eastern cuisine. Uyghur cuisine is basically comprised of components/ingredients from both Chinese and Middle Eastern food. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pic 1: Stir-fried cumin lamb with rice. Probably the best I have ever had!! I am not that of a lamb person, but this seriously blew me off 😍😍 How crispy and flavoursome it was. I am definitely going back just for this🥳
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pic 2: Chicken skewers. Tender and juicy 🍢🍢 chicken with a lovely cumin flavour. The taste was real unique but delicious 🤤🤤🤤
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pic 3: Cho chura (Ughyur style dumplings with soup). That was indeed a huge bowl 🍲Soup was smooth and light with a generous amount of lamb chunks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pic 4: Ughyur style stir- fried dry noodle. The portion size is appreciable with plentiful chicken, however, was bit too spicy for me🌶🌶
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pic 5: Chicken noddles with soup. Again a lot of chicken and the soup is so delicious. I just loved the peanuts added on top 🍜

Overall a delightful dinner and would definitely visit again to try their other signature Ughyur dishes 🤤
One of the most incredible places. The taste is honestly like no other. Chinese with a distinctive middle Eastern twist to it. The lamb is their speciality and the dumplings is really not like anything else. The seasoning and flavours feels otherworldly. Not to mention the texture of the noodles and the wrapper. Just right.
Service : I want to give 5 stars to the 1st person that serves us. She's very friendly and very suggestive. She helped us choose the menu as this is our 1st time come here. Sadly, the food taste is not to our likeness. I love the chicken that we order, it come with noodles in it. The noodles taste good. I like it very much but overall I have to give the food only 3.5 stars. After we finish the face, the reaction of the girl that serves us is so empty, and it's just giving an unwelcoming vibe. Overall I'm satisfied but if you want to try new dish I recommend this restaurant but don't put your expectations high.
We had The Taste of Silk Road dish, taste sensation! Worth the 30 mins wait time, the owner ensured we were inform of the wait time at the time of ordering. We loved it, meats cooked to perfections, so juicy and perfectly seasoned, the rice and dumplings were authentic, pickled carrots was refreshing. This dish was perfect portion for 3-4 adults. Friendly service and great to see the owner showing such great warmth and care to his customers, very accommodating. We would definitely return again or order delivery. Amazing!
Fantastic lunch on Uyghur food is similar to Afgan or Iranian food. Big plates for sharing. Real yummy hunks of meat on a delicious bed of rice, and the dumplings are delicious too.
Like went to Urumqi. Service is good. Foods are yummy. I will visit again.
Went for a dinner out with friends and this was my first time trying uyghur cuisine. I would have loved to try more items. Great value for money and great flavours as well.
The cucumber salad was just moorishly good, yoghurt drink was just a nice balance, the meat bread was flaky and just the right amount of lamb. The braised lamb was waay too much for me to finish but just doggy bagged it for next day.
Definitely going to come back to this place
The food is oily, but that’s the charm of it. Once the food hits your tastebuds, it’s hard to stop. They specialise in lamb and naan dishes, and they keep a delicious tradition. Unfortunately, the sweet milk tea does not taste sweet.
Ordered via Ubereats and there was a slight issue with the order (ubereats fault). Told them and they organised delivery for what was missing! Honestly food is amazing whether we dine in or order. If you haven't tried their food yet please do, it's definitely worth it! Family favorite!
Food was amazing especially if you want a mix of Chinese and middle Eastern tastes. Their platter is highly recommended and if you want to add a little bit, plz do try their Ayran drink.
Place is a bit congested so you might need to wait but worth it 😁
When we came the restaurant, quite quiet. After ordering the meals, the restaurant already full house. We've been waited for half an hour to serve two dishes. When we finished two dishes. Still have to wait another 15 mins to serve all the rest of dishes that we ordered.
Highly recommend the dishes called "秘制烤羊". Yummy!
