We stopped by for lunch to try their restaurant month menu. It didn't look like they were offering it so we ended up just ordering off the menu. They had a normal menu as well as a specials menu. We grabbed a few things to share and the waiter was surprised at the amount of food we had ordered.
The curry chicken was nice. Similar to other South East Asian curries in flavour. We opted for bread but you could have had it with rice too. The papaya salad was right and refreshing but I was hoping for the dressing to be a bit bolder with its flavours. It had a nice amount of chicken and prawns. The Bahn Mi was interesting. The flavour was ok and it was served with a pretzel baguette so the crust wasn't as crispy and flakey. The meat was ok but the veggies were drenched in some sort of brown sauce so it was hard to tell if they were pickled or not. The stuffed squid was cooked really well, it was almost like a sausage due to the softness of the squid. The pork and prawn pancake was nice. The pancake was nice and crispy. The dipping sauce was a bit disappointing though, again lacking the flavour bomb that gives it nice sweetness and saltiness.
The best part was the desert. The green rice panna cotta was silly and had a really unique and tasty flavour. I wasn't a big fan of the berry coolie due to the seeds but it did go well with the panna cotta. The banana sago was nice too. The coconut soup with the sago was quite light and sweet. The bananas were just bruleed so you didn't really get a big hit of banana flavour in the sago itself.
The place wasn't very big but did have a fair number of tables. The staff were friendly and nice. It is a nice place for some tasty food.

We had dinner here early on a Saturday evening. The spring rolls were the best we’ve both ever had! Deliciously crispy and packed with flavour. For main we had the beef noodle salad and the ribs. Both were divine! Very reasonably priced (especially for the CBD!) with friendly staff and great happy hour deals, with happy hour on Saturday being the entire night!! Definitely recommend.

Pho and the beef noodle salad - portions were relatively generous, staff were attentive, and the food was tasty. Would be a good place for lunch during the working break hours.

Been here for lunch and dinner, they make really great cocktails – and their happy hour drinks are very cheap ($6 for wine / $10 for 2 Heinekens). Their fried spring rolls are served in a unique way as they come out almost flat, with a side of plain noodles that goes nicely with the spring roll dipping sauce. If you’re after something not so large, I recommend this dish. Their pho is yummy too. Usually busy during peak dining times. Service is great.

The food is always amazing here and the menu selection is huge! I've eaten here many times and am yet to be disappointed. Very authentic South East Asian flavours and very fast with serving time.

Absolutely excellent!! As soon as you enter you know you've made the right choice with the decor and music. Once seated the service is excellent (we had Huyen - she was lovely!). The Indochine cocktail tasted great, then the food arrived which was even better. The place is small and cozy, but I have no doubt this place will only get bigger as more people find it. I almost don't want to share!

Tasty, fresh food, good service and $10 cocktails at happy hour - what more could you ask for! My only suggestion would be that it would be great to have some vegetarian options for the larger plates but lots of veges choices for smaller plates and salads make up for this somewhat.

I’ve not had a decent crispy tasty Vietnamese pancake since we got back from travelling there so you can imagine my delight when this one made me relive my food memes from Hoi An!! And the pho was amazing also.
Decor is clean, lively albeit small but it’s a groovy place for a bit to eat and drink.
Would definitely rate this for Vietnamese food and drop in again.

Came in for lunch on Friday 10th August with a work colleague
We ordered the pancake with shrimp and pork, pork baguette and the pork steamed bun.
Pancake: Tasty ingredients inside the salad was refreshing.  Just a bit hard to eat off a folk as it didn't stick together very well,  Pork Baguette: perfect except the baguette could have been softer Pork Steamed Bun: I like how it was a turnover bun not just a bun with a small amount of meat inside
I would recommend coming here for a cheeky lunch catch up with friends - The Vodka Sours are tasty and they have 2 for $10 Heineken in happy hours.

Today I know what people mean by "love at the first sight"! I'm in love with this restaurant the first second I eat the crispy tofu and the grilled tiger prawns. Everything is just so yummy! Particularly the grilled pork, amazing!!! Chicken is absolutely great, juicy and tender. Papaya salad is just delicious. Grilled squid is a bit spicy but I love it! I'm so gonna coming back again.

I was here a couple of weeks ago, this is a beautifull little cossy restaurant in the middle of the city, i recommend go with a booking as it may fill up quite quickly. We tryied the Goi Cuon, beautifully fresh, the Banh mi & pate was delicious, & the Banh Bao was all of what a bao has to be 🤤. As for the mains we tried the Ga Xao Xa Ot, the chicken was perfectly balanced spiced and the subtle lemongrass flavour gave it a layer of freshness that made it stand out of any other chicken dish you will try, it goes off the usuall fatty driven flavour that is the norm in most chicken dishes, the chicken broth it comes with was subtle and with real chicken flavour, it has been a while since i tryied a proper chicken brot, and i am quite sure that there is any "chicken flavouring" added, it was clean, balanced and non of that gamey flavour other broths of this type can have, we also tried the Thit Kho, another delicious dish, packed full of flavour and juice, a total contrast with the subtle and delicate flavour of the chicken dish, great experience. As for the dessert we tried the Banana Sago, we loved it, but if i could make a recommendation would be to easy on the caramelising of the sugar on top of the banana as it was a little bit bitter, still delicious. They also have a couple of Vietnamese beers (Hanoi and Saigon, although they only had Saigon at that time) and a few local brews on tap. Hope to go again and try the rest of the menu! Cheers!

Very casual but still feeling intimate and quite at home here in Indochine. The Cocktails were great and the food tasty and authentic. With the prices they had I had plenty to try without breaking the bank in fort street. I always have the Bun Cha on my first meal at a new restaurant and it didn't disappoint! Their spring rolls are on point 👌 and would come back for the cravings it left in me the next day. Came out with a very light dinner but still satisfied. Would recommend to family and even my Vietnamese friends from overseas. I'll be back!

Indochine Kitchen has been my favourite restaurant find for 2017. Service is fantastic, the beverage list is very pleasing and this is an exemplary standard of Vietnamese cuisine at its best, every dish is simply heavenly. Clean, fresh and fragrant flavours dance across your palate and you really feel transported elsewhere!

Loved the spring rolls and the sauce !!! The beef was a quite tough and looked like different cut of meat but overall, pho was good. Just super friendly and wholesome service ❤️

Fantastic, tasty food in a nice atmosphere! Staff were friendly. Parking can be an issue as it's in Auckland CBD. Definitely worthwhile.

The bahn xeo and the bun cha (beef noodle salad) we're divine. Not a huge fan of their pho though. Average bao's. The service there was great! Nice place for a long lunch on a Friyay.

A hidden gem in the Auckland city. If you are looking for a healthy and light dinner plus some drink, this is the place. Their cocktails are original and refreshing. Definitely will be back to try for another drink or two while dipping into Vietnamese cuisine. Happy hours is all weekend.

Had the Goi Cuon, which were extremely well-prepared, really enjoyed the herb combination and freshness of the ingredients. The charcoal grilled squid with the papaya salad was balanced perfectly. Loved the baguette and pate which was served warm and toasted with the right amount of black pepper. The Thit kho was very aromatic with the right touch of sweetness from the caramel. The staff were lovely and the meal was a great start to level 1.
