Popped in for a quick brunch while the Rugby World Cup final was on (how very unpatriotic)....
Normally this place is cranking, but RWC23 seemed to have kept everyone at home, meant that service was SUPER quick.
Cost $65 for 2x brunch meals, 2x coffees and 1x impulse buy cabinet item
+Good strong Supreme coffee
+Great onsite bakery with fresh artisan breads
+ Excellent cabinet food.
Brunch (Mince on Toast and Eggs Benedict) was good, solid fare; eggs poached perfectly, bacon crispy, mince well-flavoured. Doesn't quite have the X-factor of Crave Cafe brunch, but definitely worth a stop in if you are in Mt Eden and have done Frasers, Circus Circus et al.
Olaf's Artisan Bakery Cafe is a solid choice for a quick and tasty meal. Overall the food was good, although the portions were on the smaller side for the price. As a bakery, I was also a bit disappointed that the meals didn't include more bread. However, these minor issues were easily overlooked due to the overall high quality of the meal. I tried the Gourmet Breakfast and paired it with an oat flat white, both of which were very tasty. The oat flat white, in particular, was creamy and smooth. While Olaf's may not offer the best value for money, the quality of the food and drinks more than make up for it. I would definitely recommend giving this bakery cafe a try and look forward to returning in the future.
I had French toast for breakfast. I was amazing, one of the best things I had to eat for a long time
