If you want a cafe where the staff will learn your name and get to know you, then this is the place you want to go!
I’m quite picky when it gets to coffee but these ladies always brew the best. The service is fantastic, always smiling, polite and professional (even when the line is circling around the cafe - they always find a time to say hello).
The bread is amazing and I certainly recommend asking them for what goes best with which type of bread.
I’ve been going here for over a few years now and have always been delighted with everything. I’ve recommended it to friends and family who’ve all had great times there.
P.s. if you’re lucky, and the ladies discover you have a dark sense of humour, then you might get funny things written on your cup, no promises!
So I am as picky as it gets when it comes to my eggs Beni and by the stars I have found my new favourite place! Eggs beni with bacon was perfect! Latte was amazing! Perfect temp perfect flavour all round! Looks like a small Portion but damn is it filling!!!! After we finished breakfast we decided to take away some other items for lunch too! Definitely will be back again!
We had lunch here a few days ago and it was very busy, despite this we received impeccable service, by our lovely server, I sadly didn't get her name, but she had gorgeous short red hair and was so attentive and patient with us. Best service I've had in a long time! Food and coffees were great and served very promptly, as we struggled to finish, we were brought takeaway bags without even having to ask. Stellar service, great food, the sweet pastries are a must. Would highly recommend and looking forward to trying more of the menu.
Positives • A HUGE fan of the pastries and cabinet food. So moreish and delicious, can’t help but get another as I walk out. Coffee is delicious too.
Negative • Very disappointed with the pancakes though. Very dense and overly sweet. Needs compote or something refreshing and liquified to cut thru that. Never too sure if there is table service. Been here on server almost occasions and the same waitress is the only one who serves (ups to her) - plenty of workers but no table service? 🤔
Coffee - 10/10
Parties - 10/10 🤤😍
Pancakes - 4/10
Service - 5/10
The coffee was amazing. I noticed they use supreme coffee bean. Personally i love supreme coffee and its has various flavour notes and decent quality.
best benes in the village for sure. gorgeous sunny spot to have brekky on a sunday. just a little cramped in the seating arrangement. my only complaint. the best take home breads as well! this coming from an ex-baker.
Visited for the second time with a friend yesterday. I ordered the chicken sandwich and raspberry tart and my friend ordered the pancakes and a coffee. My food was delicious, my friend enjoyed hers too. Highly recommend the tarts- pretty and tasty. Service seemed a little bit flustered/agitated but otherwise great, well worth going to :)
Lovely cafe! The service is so fast that while I wait for my friend to order (after I've ordered), my coffee already came.
The blueberry pancake was sensational. My eggs bene with salmon was also great. Really enjoyed the brunch here. Highly recommend and I'll come here to try out different food.
great place to come for brunch!
I was recommended this place by a friend and was impressed. friendly staff and fast service.
will be back.
Heard this place was good and I heard right. Came in for a coffee and the place was packed. Really enjoyed their French toast and their hot cross buns were nxt level. Staff were friendly and they have a good menu to choose from for brunch. Keen to purchase their bread and loaves next time!
I absolutely love this place. It’s the only place in Auckland where the bread reminds of bread back in Europe. I also really love their Bola de Berlim (which I already ate so I’m sorry for the no photo). The staff are fantastic, super friendly and always helpful! The food can be a expensive however I think it’s normal relative to other cafes across Auckland. I love their coffee, my favourites are their iced coffees and their hot chocolates with coconut milk (you can really taste that coconut creaminess). Thanks guys!
A bustling cafe with freshly baked bread and other delicious looking goods. We ordered off the menu and got some delicious salmon, quiche and salads: all fresh, and great quality - made with local ingredients. The servings were a generous size, and we left really happy. :)
Popped in for a quick brunch while the Rugby World Cup final was on (how very unpatriotic)....
Normally this place is cranking, but RWC23 seemed to have kept everyone at home, meant that service was SUPER quick.
Cost $65 for 2x brunch meals, 2x coffees and 1x impulse buy cabinet item
+Good strong Supreme coffee
+Great onsite bakery with fresh artisan breads
+ Excellent cabinet food.
Brunch (Mince on Toast and Eggs Benedict) was good, solid fare; eggs poached perfectly, bacon crispy, mince well-flavoured. Doesn't quite have the X-factor of Crave Cafe brunch, but definitely worth a stop in if you are in Mt Eden and have done Frasers, Circus Circus et al.
Olaf's Artisan Bakery Cafe is a solid choice for a quick and tasty meal. Overall the food was good, although the portions were on the smaller side for the price. As a bakery, I was also a bit disappointed that the meals didn't include more bread. However, these minor issues were easily overlooked due to the overall high quality of the meal. I tried the Gourmet Breakfast and paired it with an oat flat white, both of which were very tasty. The oat flat white, in particular, was creamy and smooth. While Olaf's may not offer the best value for money, the quality of the food and drinks more than make up for it. I would definitely recommend giving this bakery cafe a try and look forward to returning in the future.
I had French toast for breakfast. I was amazing, one of the best things I had to eat for a long time
Had the eggs benedict with spinach from the menu. Very nice food presentation but unfortunately taste was quite average (had to put on heaps of salt) and portion was rather small for the price which was a bit disappointing. Flat White (with Coffee Supreme) was delicious though, and service was friendly and quick.
Also had the rosemary scone and the fig and fennel bread takeaway. Both were super yum.
Busy spot on a Saturday morning but worth the effort. Service was good and we didn't have to wait long for our meals or coffee. Bit of a diy assembly job for the smelt bagel but that's no biggie. Our group of four were all pleased with meals.
Place with relaxing vibe. Employees seem to enjoy being part of place even though it is pretty busy often. Tasty patisserie and bread. Very nice coffee. All in easy going decorative ambience. It is great starting or finishing point for Mt Eden hill with beautiful views over Auckland.
Went in for some poached eggs and iced chocolate while my brother had the gourmet breakfast and iced mocha with shared duck fat wedges. Both meals were delicious and served within a good amount of time. The staff were beyond friendly and very helpful and sweet! I was not quite a fan of the cinnamon in the iced chocolate but it was still enjoyable. Both breakfasts were delightful! We will definitely be coming back here to try the other items on the menu and maybe some cabinet food! Great place to eat and relax :-)
Great coffee and muffin coupled with warm service from wait staff! Huge selection of bread and cabinet food with reasonable :)
Everything was awesome. Truffled mushrooms were amazing. I’ll be back for more!

They have the best blueberry tarts plus these tarts have the most blueberries on top compared to other shops. There is no other cake shop that puts so many blueberries. There are a lot of varieties of bread and dessert to chooses from, their coffee is also very rich in flavour I highly recommend you go visit this place.
