Been here a lot of times. Mainly for BBQ and fried noodles. BBQ is great and tasty which you must try it. If you like noodles, you should try the home made flat noodle with beef in chilli oil, YUMMY.

Best Chinese BBQ skewers in Auckland.
Taste, texture, quality, quantity all exceeds everywhere else. Obviously best place to go for skewers. Their side dishes were lit too especially the cucumber.
Great place to share meals and have a few beers. Iโd say the best lamb skewers that I've had in Auckland so far!
Lamb skewers - bigger pieces of lamb and meaty compared to other chinese skewer places. We ordered 60 skewers between 6 people.
Cucumber in Soy sauce - also bigger pieces of cucumber and tasty
Chilli Chicken with potato (with homemade noodles) in Large. This is really big. Lucky this place has takeaway containers handy so we took half of this home.
We also ordered a few potato skewers, chicken heart skewers and squid skewers, and a cold chicken dish (might have been poached) that is covered in spicy sauce with peanuts on top. The sauce is very spicy and addictive.
Service is pretty good. The place look like an old fashioned slightly shabby bar but that also makes this place its signature theme. They play Looney Toons cartoon on screen which is interesting.
I love this place so much. Every time I come here the food is the same and itโs always amazing. Cheap prices and big portion sizes. Usually quite fast to bring the food out
Looks can be deceiving! This place didn't look like much from the outside and even after sitting down at a table but the food here is cheap and cheerful and the portions are enough to satisfy and have leftovers. They do big hearty bowls and an array of skewers that you can mix and match. Food comes out quick and you grab your own water and smaller bowls for sharing.

Their $1 beef/chicken/lamb sticks are value for money. You canโt go wrong with these. We also ordered their mapo tofu on rice and spicy dry beef noodles, both are really good at $14 each. Great for late night drinking with group of friends. The place is air conditioned too so perfect to escape outside heat at the moment. Note they do 10% surcharge on public holiday.
Best Skewers and cucumber salad in Auckland. The lamb hardly has the strong smell you get from lamb, unlike Gogo music. Strongly recommend this place!
Open till late, so a nice place to have BBQ and beer with my husband sometimes after 10pm. Their seafood soup is healthy and delicious. Only one time that we called for order before we arrived to shorten the waiting time, but the staff member thought it was a takeaway, and we ended up waiting for even longer at the table. Overall a place that we come repeatedly on late nights.

The place itself is grotty af and they need massive improvement on their cleanliness and customer service. In saying that, we go here all the time (at least once a month) and we've never had a bad experience (but that's probably because the staff knows us already).ย
We only order their skewers or from time to time we order their fried chicken or taiwanese chicken.
Flavour of the skewers are great and in our experience, its always been perfectly cooked.
This place is so affordable, we only pay $20-25 between 2 people.
Fat boys Tavern reminds me of a country outback western vibe by the interior design. It's quite different to your typical Asian restaurant but there's nothing negative about that. Their skewers are decently priced and quite delicious. I recommend the chicken skewers and the fried buns with condensed milk if you're craving something sweet after. Service is pretty decent, standard and nothing out of the ordinary. Food arrives pretty fast but I've never been when they're busy so it might alter during peak times. Please keep in mind this is a tavern so you need to bring ID when you want to dine here

Staff was very friendly.
Nice place with plenty of different dishes, a lot of BBQ option, lamb beef chicken veggie.. and many more. But also rice dishes.
Many drink options a well. From alcohol to soft or milky one.
It can be hard to get staff attention when you want to order.
It's usually delicious every time we go, but sometimes we ordered noodle it comes out very, very late after eating all the foods
Always goes before my friend got pregnant ๐คฐ, I worked in Albany 3 days a week and we went at the least twice a week. Fat boy it like our after work dinner place no matter it was 6pm or 10pm , always hot food with great service! ๐ Yes my Guinness ๐บ too ๐๐๐ yummy. It took a while for the servers to come and take the orders but food came out relatively fast. They open until late so if you want to drink and have a fun night with your friends come here and enjoy it.

Lol. It was my first time here, and in all honesty, right after I arrived and parked my car, my guts were having mixed feelings and leaning towards my reluctance to eat in there. But I gave it a try, and you know what?? My long overdue need to eat an excellent, proper, saucy prawn!!!!! Luckily, I did! And then it was probably my night because Zi tried playing slot machines, and somehow I also won! Whhooooh๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฆโโ๏ธ I am sorry again, and so am sorry.
Lovely food that will surprise you with the price!
This is not my first time but everything I visited I was never disappointed.
My favorite dish is flat rice noodles. I love it ๐.

Itโs funny to see a gambling room ๐ฐ set inside of a restaurant. Fat Boys made it happen! (Although we donโt like gambling at all)
The place is always busy no matter weekday night or weekends (so hard to find a seat without booking)

I wouldnโt say their skewers are all amazing, but itโs really tasty with reasonable price. Grab a beer, good amount of skewers, itโs only $30 pp.
