Amazing food! The menu is exquisite. We went with a group and ordered all the middle plates to share. Every plate was sensational.
The interior is beautiful. All the plants inside are the real deal.

5th street is an absolutely must do stunning experience. The atmosphere is Lovely, the staff great and the day it’s gorgeous. The food is amazing - karaage chicken best I’ve had, the salt fish divine and the steak and jus delicious. Could have 1000 of the hush puppies. Great night out.
This was our second visit after recommended by many people so that we had high expectations.
Overall experience was good.
Sauces in all the plates were impressive.
Small plates were particularly great; medium plates that can be ordered in half size could be better, for example carrots were undercooked and bland; Some proportions of steak were a bit overcooked.
Dessert menu wasn’t anything exciting.
Sparkling wine was served in a normal white wine glass, a bit odd.
Oh my! From the friendly staff, the recommendations of food and drink, it couldn't have been any better. Great atmosphere, amazing food. We will definitely be back. I've been recommending 5th Street to everyone!
Omfg. Yes yes yes. Super tasty. Expensive but worth it. Fish a little small but beef cheek was to die for. So so good.
Had a bit of a morose waitress which was a downer (no smile and didn't want to be at work that night). but the cocktails helped me forget about her!! Yay to the dessert as well. Don't order anything but the apple pie, 100% perfect.
Great place. Good food. Recommend the beef cheek and stracciatella cheese. Had the brownie and it was very good. Had the crab dish and wasn’t great. Chicken was good - but not my top pick. Sam one of the staff was fantastic.
Really enjoyed our time here. The staff were very welcoming and the food was excellent. My dad very much enjoyed his father's day. Thank you.
Awesome night out for dinner with friends. We opted for the Trust the Chef option which was excellent. Delicious food, great service, very funky busy vibe. Loved everything we ate Looking forward to returning there for dinner!

We dined here on a Saturday night to celebrate our friends Birthday. We’ve been a number of times and the team never disappoints. From the minute you arrive you are welcomed and asked if you’d like a pre dinner drink prior to being taken to your table. Do this and order a cocktail as the mixologist is terrific. I had an old fashion and it was on point. My wife chose the vodka martini and it was crisp and strong !! As there were 4 of us we ordered 3 starters, 2 middle plates and 3 mains. The warmed spiced olives were delicious and the meatballs were packed with flavour. The carrot dish was surprisingly good and the Brussels sprouts were so delicious and crunchy. My buddy typically hates these but he was all over them. For the mains we had the fish, lamb shoulder and veggie risotto. All of these dishes were just melt in the mouth delicious. The fish was so beautifully cooked with that slight opaque sheen, and the lamb just fell apart. Highly recommended and I can honestly say this is in our top 5 restaurants in New Zealand and top 3 Christchurch.
Beautiful atmosphere and delicious, high-quality food! The share plates are fun because you get to try lots of different plates. The plates are small and we needed to order more than we expected for everyone to have enough. I loved all the dishes I tried. The pasta sauce on the vegetarian dish was not my personal favorite.

High level of service received, staff communicated well with each other which made dining experience smooth and enjoyable.

A delightful first experience
Excellent food - in taste and presentation, good service and lovely green ambience, all combine to provide a wonderful experience to the diners.
Some more nice things:
1. Open on Mondays.
2. Some dishes can be served as half, which allows diners to try more dishes
3. Good choice for vegetarians too, in the medium sized plates.
We had:
- nachos with avocado mousse as starter
- 1/2 each of potatoes and grilled carrot dishes as mains
- vegetarian pasta as mains
Between 2 of us, it was more than enough.
The drinks we had were slightly different from normal but in a nice way.
Highly recommended - will be happy to dine there again.
