Everything was so amazing!
This is a popular spot (and we now see why!), so on a Friday night, all inside seating was taken by reservation, but they were able to accommodate us with outside tables (they have heaters).
The staff was friendly and our 3 dishes were sooo good. The market fish was Warehou paired with a fried muscle cake, grilled fennel, and some fried kale. I cleared the plate it was so amazing. It also had a pumpkin sauce of sorts.
The polenta sticks were fab too.
You won’t get a bad dish here.
This is definitely more of a fancy spot with smaller portions but amazing taste. If you’re in town, give it a try.
Also, we’re from the USA, so remember when you’re done, you walk to the register and pay. They won’t bring the bill to you.
What an absolute cracker of a restaurant!! The food here is beautifully presented and tastes like an absolute treat. This was some of the best food we had during our holiday around NZ. Myself, my wife, and my daughter all demolished our meals and could have easily gone back for seconds - had we not been so full. The lamb shoulder was tender and juicy, the salmon was cooked to perfection and the kids fish n chips were light and crispy. The duck fat potatoes were also crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I wish we had another night in Christchurch so we could come back again. Thanks guys for the outstanding meal! 10/10!!
Took a gamble and ordered the Tempura Fish aka fish and chips. This is hands down the best fish and chips I have ever had. Having traveled around the world and trying many famous fish and chips this is saying something. This is a must eat.
We had the lamb shoulder and duck fat cooked Potato's. Both were really good. The service was also very good however, we were having an early Dinner so the restaurant was quite quiet. I would definitely eat there again.
We arrived at Christchurch in the evening and this was our first meal here. It’s a pleasant surprise. Food and dessert are real good, price is reasonable. We enjoyed our first meal in Christchurch.
One of the most delicious Salmon that I’ve ever had! It tasted wonderful, a bit salty combined with juice… although it was a bit undercooked (I always make Salmon well-cooked), I did enjoy have it. Its Lamb shoulder was also delicious, but I tried only a bit portion :). Very nice and beautiful environment. I highly recommend trying this restaurant.
The food here was amazing, they have a very basic menu in the sense there is a lamb, beef, chicken, vege, pasta and fish option but they do all of their food so well. Everything was absolutely delicious and well cooked. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
Went to Fiddlesticks for dinner and it was a hit. The waitress was on point and really attentive. The food didn't just look good; it tasted amazing too. We went for the chef's prime cut for sharing. Though it came out rare instead of our usual medium-rare—our mistake for not specifying—it was still delicious. Definitely a place worth trying out!
It was suddenly a chilly windy day and lovely staff closed the roof in the inside yet open roof area and turned heaters on to make us comfy. Served us delicious interesting bits such as crispy cauliflower in peanut dressing and delicious wine. Really, all you need on suddenly crisp spring Tuesday afternoon to get your spirit up ✨️
I went here for lunch with my family and everything was wonderful. The staff were extremely friendly and the environment was very relaxing.
I got the risotto and it was creamy, hearty, and delicious. Other members of my party got the chicken salad (very tender and juicy) and the cured salmon. Overall, a great place to dine in a very central location.
