An iconic part of Christchurch city. This is the first time I have visited since has had new owners. Great to see the new has maintained the character of the old. And the main event, Charlie's Ice Cream is still the same.

This place is great!! The staff are super friendly and nothing is too much of a problem for them to do. They really keep the memory of 'Charlie' alive. The vanilla ice's with raspberry and cream are a delight. Stopping here on an ocassional trip to the city brings back so many memeories from the early 70's for me. They were a lot cheaper in those days but you still get great value for your money today.

$1 a scoop..I love these as a treat however they've just had another price increase.. p.s. Not if, but when you eat one of these and you get brain freeze.. push your tongue up to the roof of your mouth and hold it there. It should go away straight away.
