Now this a lovely authentic Italian joint serving very nice pizzas. Its got nice and welcoming interiors and friendly service. Definitely recommended if in the area.
Have been to Spagalimis multiple times and have enjoyed each time thoroughly. Pizzas are flavourful and the atmosphere is cosy. The only downside is food took a little longer than expected, but worth the wait. Would recommend the apricot chicken pizza.
I really want to give Spags a higher rating, because they have for many years been a really solid Pizzeria. Quality-wise, I'd rate them a 4 - their pizza's aren't the best in the world, but they are pretty good. Unique crusts, nice finely chopped toppings, and a massive step up from the Pizza Huts and Domino's Pizzas of the world in flavour and quality.
That said, pricing has crept up to $14 for large pizzas with the Uno card (up from $12), which makes it a slightly worse deal. Without the Uno card their prices are even higher. I'd generally take Spagalimis over Hell for quality, but there's not a lot in it.
Pro tip, Spag's Chips are identical in flavour to McCain Original Fries. If you're penny pinching takeaways, buy them frozen from the supermarket and stick the oven on when you order. Yeehaw. (Sorry Spags, but you charge too much for them)
Very very busy place! Quite loud but I guess that's okay for the younger ones and families. Wouldn't recommend it to people who hate loud places. Best salmon pizza I've ever had!
This was our first visit to this South Island restaurant chain. Our friends had dined there several times before. The pizza's were very nice and filling with good sized portions of toppings.
The staff were very patient , whilst us visitors pondered over the choices available.
We were suitable full when we wobbled out later feeling like Mr. Blooby
Wonderful dining experience at Spagalimis tonight! Our waitress was a sweetie, very friendly without being overbearing. We never had to leave our table to ask for anything or wait around for service. We had a nice seat by the window and the place was quiet which made it a very relaxing place to eat. My Margherita pizza was one of the best I have ever had (and I have had a lot of Margherita pizzas). Very happy we made the decision to eat here.
Great service and really amazing chicken and cranberry pizza-- highly recommended.
Upon walking into the location, it's very dark and deserted looking, as you have to navigate your way to the very back of the restaurant to be greeted. There's nothing wrong with some ambiance (I love the candles!) but the pendant lights are far too dimmed down, the single bulb inside glowing orange and not providing much light at all. I think it'd be nice if the rest of the restaurant could reflect how bright and cheerful the great staff are.
Got pizzas as takeaway, so can't comment on what the atmosphere of the place, but the pizza is pretty good. Lots of flavour, getting half and half pizzas don't cost any extra, so a great way to taste more options.

Came here for a children's birthday meal. It was quick and easy to book a table online. We booked for a very quiet time so we almost had the place to ourselves.
When we arrived, our table was ready with a little birthday decoration, which was a nice little touch.
The service was quick and helpful.
Pizzas were well cooked and tasty. Not quite thin and crispy, but miles better than the donut like bases you get at the big red and blue chain pizza place. The toppings were generous enough without being ridiculous. Will definitely be back to try other pizzas. Side dishes were tasty too.
They've got a good range of special vegan pizzas and some nice vegetarian ones. I'm hoping to get a vegetarian one next time, but will ask if the cheese can be left off for a marinara-esque style concoction. Gluten-free options too.
There was a steady but quiet stream of customers coming in to pick up pizzas for takeaway as time went on. Seems to be popular.
The atmosphere was lacking a little. Taking into account the quiet time that we arrived, the layout did feel open and a little cold, despite the nice booths. Perhaps it would be perfect on hotter, busier days though.
I would definitely recommend to the manager that they get rid of the table cloths. Ours kept sliding across the table, dragging the plates and glasses near the edge...
I'm usually always left disappointed when eating out, especially since the food is very average for the relatively high prices being charged in Christchurch. This place, however, didn't leave me feeling like I had been ripped off. Looking forward to finding an excuse to come back.

We dropped into here and it was really nice. The young lady who served us was very poilte. The pizza and wedges were yum! The ambience (music) was a nice mix of genre's for a Saturday afternoon. Thank you.
I recommend dining in even though it does cost more to get a table. The Saturday deal on large pizzas is good, and medium pizza is cheaper from 11am to 4pm (Wed-Sun). Much better than other pizza shops, and at Spags you can dine in. My parents took me here when I was a child so I'm nostalgic. Unfortunately they have ran out of Limoncello.
I love this place, always clean and fantastic service and food..the staff are so friendly and professional. Came back again for lunch, we had THE MOST delicious pizza, so fresh, and came out super fast. Highly recommend this awesome restaurant and canāt wait to go back.

Finding the pizza place from carpark at night was a bit difficult their menu is okay same as most pizza places except dine in so there is alcohol for purchase. Prices average.we were in an area of establishment that we felt a bit left out once we got our order but overall not too bad
Excellent service as well as presentation of food was too good. Also the owner greeted us very wellš must recommend for family gatheringsš
Spags has had a facelift and is freshly painted, table cloths on tables, some new tables and chairs also. Church Corner is still my favourite Spagalimis and it didnt disappoint. Service was great, food was hot, fresh, and delicious!
