Excellent family owned business. Food was delicious. Loved the beef salad. Probably the best in Christchurch. Same as the peanut sauce/satay dishes.
First time here tonight & my brother shouted. We got 3 entrees which we shared & 3 mains. Forgot the names but took pics. Absolutely loved it! The only thing (me being fussy) I'm use to the sweet & sour pork being battered & my 1 wasn't but still delicious.
The guy serving us was working alone but was so patient & really kind.
There was a little girl in the corner eating & watching programs on her pH (servers daughter maybe?) She was REALLY well behaved didn't annoy anyone who was eating in.

They found this restaurant by chance. Certainly wasn't disappointed with any of our 11 meals ordered. The flavours were a mix of sour, sweet, crunchy and spicy.
I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

If you like Asian/Thai food this is the place to go for! Party of four (white cis male) and all of us enjoyed the food. Seriously yummy 😋 highly recommended!

It was okay, I had the Money bags which were big but all pork meat no beans and corn inside like other restaurants usually put in money bags, still nice though I think one wasn't cooked through properly, I also had the Tom yum chicken I thought the portion was quite small, and the chicken was a bit tough or chewy not soft and easily chewed. Probably better to use chicken breast instead of thigh. But I really loved the flavour of the Tom yum soup base it was mild but still had some flavour and zest to it... I couldn't bring up any issues as I had to leave because I had a toothache.. not because of the food. Thanks though
Another lovely dining experience at red poppy Thai, this place always delivers on a very good food a great atmosphere and as always friendly staff ! Would highly recommend you gi e this place a try if you love Thai ❤️
Lovely food and excellent service
The atmosphere was lovely until some whingy customers were being Karen's and complaining loudly over stupid things. Made the whole atmosphere feel uncomfortable. Not the restaurants fault by any means. The hostess handled it gracefully. Would definitely go back again.
This little gem needs to be talked about...set in Richmond near the Working Men's Club it is always very clean,very welcoming and does great indoor or takeaway Thai food .there is always a spare setting for a seated meal and takeaways are given same priority as in-house meals. If you want a quiet intimate meal this is the place to go
We live out of town , but for my birthday my mother got me my favorite Thai food 😋 I rang my mother half way through eating my amazing Dish Pad thai chicken, asking where did she get this from as it's the best Thai food I've ever had. Not only was it the BEST , the size of the dish was incredible, I had dinner that night , then lunch the next day , beautiful fresh taste, I can not recommend Red Poppy enough 😋
You are now my favorite Thai restaurant.
