It was a super busy Saturday. The waiter that welcomed us was super friendly, he informed us that food will take longer than expected. So we just agreed, we waited for half an hour. But food is 👌. It’s worth the wait. Didn’t had the chance to take a photo coz we were so excited to try it. It was gorgeous! Yum!!
Beautiful and authentic food and service- they are all actually Japanese unlike a lot of other Japanese places- we got the teriyaki chicken, edemame beans, mixed tempura and gyoza- homemade and with love nom nom coming back here for more- also the waitress was so beautiful!!
Simple casual dining. The food was great. Noodles were perfect. One of the best Udon i’ve ever had. Definitely my favorite. Selections are pretty limited, but other than that its a great place for dining.
Went there for a lunch and I was impressed with the level of the meal! Food was fresh and tasty, good flavours and nice presented. Place is very clean with nice and new interior. Very friendly staff. Would recommend this place and definitely would go there again.
We were the only ones there - but enjoyed our meal ! We selected a large range of the menu and enjoyed everything ! . ありがとうございました😊 will be back
Even though we’d hate for the place to get so busy we can’t find a seat, it’s probably not good to gatekeep such an authentic (definition: actually operated by Japanese people and no strange fusion pan-Asian dishes) Japanese restaurant. This would be difficult to top, even in Auckland. Granted, we did eat a heck of a lot of food plus two expensive drink options, but for normal meals it’s actually quite cost effective. Do try the sashimi, croquettes and beef steak! Their liqueur tasting is very good, at the price point of a hotel cocktail. Although the location is easy to miss, it’s well worth the trip and takes me right back to my friendly Japanese neighbourhood in Osaka.
Lovely, fresh, tasty food. Pictures don't do the dishes justice as the restaurant is quite dim. The seafood lovers deluxe set is a highlight, with the largest variety I've experienced in Hamilton, for a very reasonable price. Recommend arriving early or making a reservation. We arrived at opening and were immediately seated, food came quickly. By the time we finished the restaurant was near capacity and the single wait staff was run off his feet.
Went here in recommendation from a work friend, for a lunch meeting. It was excellent! And so I then had to bring my husband to try it as well. It’s tucked away a little from the street. There is so much to choose from on the food menu and the drinks menu. We tried a lot of different dishes. Everything was a presented so beautifully with flowers cut out of carrot slices, etc. Everything was delicious. The staff were very attentive and explained the food and how each is usually enjoyed. It was a fabulous experience and I can’t wait to go back.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday, but unfortunately they don't have anything special for birthdays.

After dinning Saturday afternoon was pleasant and authentic atmosphere with Jason's top attentive and very polite service (compliments to the chef) for the most delicious 3 course Japanese cuisine and no.1 off my first experience. The food was brilliant delightful and left me wanting to explore more of their great menu. See you soon 😊
Food is overall good except for the tempura sauce and chicken are under-seasoning. Love the grill fish. Beautiful plating. The biggest drawback is the dishes are served really slow. There was only one table before us (about 8 people) and it took 30 minutes for our first dish to be served. I guess there’s only one chef cooking. Would like to come again but would definitely check how many customers are already there before entering.
Every season, they do an Omakase degustation. I've been to the last two and it has just been a phenomenal experience. Amazing job by the team and fantastic service
Authentic Japanese food, cooked and run Japanese staff. This is where you can taste the difference. This place is kind of hidden away on Victoria Street but not hard to find. Free 2 hours on street parking so no need to rush. Lots to choose from food and drink menus. Staff work very hard and offer friendly and helpful service. Vaccine Pass is required as per Jacindas rule. Tempura dish was so crispy, and better than i-Japanese Cafe up the road. Highly recommended to give this place a go. We will definitely return. Awesomeans authentic food, beautifully presented on the plates, can't say enough. Give it a go and you will know what I mean.
The steak teriyaki was really well cooked and excellent Miso soup.
The karage chicken was tender and flavoursome!
