The food was GOOD ! And the service was fast as i feel like we ordered right before a big group that was around that night . We had the whole snapper and entree size tom yam. The snapper is suitable for up to 4 ppl (but limited gravy, probably request for more ?) also Depending on the other side dishes you ordered (probably another 2-3 side dishes, the fish can definitely feed a table of 4. Overall it was good, will definitely come back !
Had a takeaway meal, ordered by phone. Meal was ready to pick up in 15 mins. Absolutely amazing service, polite and friendly. Meal was great, wife had the chicken pad Thai and I had the signature crispy chicken, just the right amount of heat. Would eat again, maybe dine in next time.
The Original Thai Restaurant is as original as any Thai restaurant in Auckland (in a good way)
Taste: 4/5 the food is pretty authentic and yummy. Was particularly impressed with their dessert selection which included quite a variety of authentic Thai desserts which many other restaurants wouldn't bother offering. Bonus points there!
Value: 3/5 prices would rival a fancy Thai restaurant in Ponsonby, which is a little steep
Decor/Ambience: 3/5 the restaurant is dimly lit, and seems a little run down
Overall: 3.5/5 if prices were made a little more affordable, I'd probably happily eat there all the time.
The sevice here is simply amazing. We were immediately attended upon arrival. We had the tomyum and their specialty fish in just roughly 10 minutes. We really felt that we were taken care of. From the water, the extra bowls and the immediate clearing of plates, the service fundamentals were there. Although we felt that the tomyum tasted sweeter than it should be. Other than that, this place is worth the visit.
Really enjoyed a family dinner, service was very quick, appetisers were good, green curry was the highlight my husband now craving. No problem with taking home daughters pad Thai. Cost was pretty good. Would definitely return.

Food was amazing, and they catered extremely well for vegetarian / vegan diets. The pad-thai and curries seemed to be the most popular choices amongst our large group. The presentation of food was so cute and the restaurant itself was decorated nicely.
Great customer service and waitresses were very well spoken and friendly.
Would definitely return to eat here again.
Went out with my family for a birthday dinner on a Sunday night. Had never visited this Thai restaurant so was not to sure of what to expect. Service was very friendly but not to overbearing and the food was great. Nice environment with a surprising steady flow of diners. Huge menu which was amazing. Food was fast and well presented. I think it is a bit more expensive than other Thai restaurants but well worth it.
Nice, friendly and efficient service and the food was great!!! There was a small group of us and we stayed a little later than they closed but all of the staff were very accomodating. Will definitley return.

The restaurant is a bit dim inside, but otherwise is nice and has some character.
The service was friendly and efficient, although not very knowledgeable when asked about options from the drinks menu!
Overall, worth going to. Other Thai places are at a similar level. Most likely will be back some time.

Amazing!!! Thai food is my absolute favourite and Original Thai is undoubtedly the best in Hamilton. Everything we ordered was 10/10 and so was the service.
I’ve also never seen such intricate carrot garnishes before! They were a work of art, and just go to show the level of care at Original Thai. Can’t wait to try the whole menu!

The Thai food at this restaurant was genuinely the best I can recall having. The spring rolls we started with had a crispy outer layer unlike any I've had before. All our main dishes were excellent. I can't pick a single fault with any of them. The table was well decorated and the food presentation was also well done with fine details. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. Strongly recommend you try this place. If we lived in the area we would definitely make this a regular habit.
We were quickly seated, delivered our drinks and our order taken. The restaurant was clean, tidy and well presented with authentic thai decorations.
The food arrived and looked delicious. My mussaman had a little candle under it to keep it hot and it fancy dish. The boat curry also turned up in a nice boat shaped dish.
All the meals were absolutely delicious.

I always go for a Coconut Red Duck Curry with Lychee when i eat Thai. First time I went to this place and I really liked it. Lady was lovely. it came out looking lovely. Even a candle underneath to keep warm (which I thought was a great idea.
Only thing is when I asked for Mild, it did come super mild. So just bear that in mind. when trying to gauge how hot something will be (I am a woose when it comes to heat).
Fantastic food, great customer service. Small intimate and traditional decor.
