Outstanding on all accounts. The service was attentive without being obtrusive, the wine list had a good range representing good value and the meals were fantastic. I was particularly impressed with the flavours in the venison entree. I highly recommend 148 on Elles for any occasion.
This restaurant has to be one of the very best in Invercargill. Had a truly magnificent meal there last night. Meals were outstanding, beautifully presented and flavours amazing. The service was outstanding. Felt warm and welcoming as soon as we entered the room. Truly fine dining at its very best. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and we will definitely be returning.
Great service, felt very welcome from the moment we walked in. Food tasty but definitely not 'fine dining', perhaps for Invercargill it may be considered that but having steak and crinkle cut fries on the menu doesn't cut it for me. It was more good, slightly overpriced pub food. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant night out but probably wouldn't return if after fine dining experience. The service gave it four stars.
My husband and I finally found a place in Southland that's worth every cent. The meals were perfection. Staff were exceptional. As ex-Aucklanders now living in the best part of the world, we admit to being picky. There was nothing to pick on here. We will be recommending this restaurant to our guests who stay with us in Mossburn and anyone else who cares to ask about where to eat in Invercargill.

We have been before and had very good service from the present owners and staff.
However this time it was outstanding.
We had a very nice meal, staff were friendly, at the end when we were leaving our car would not start!
Alan came out to get some herbs from the garden.
He went out of his way to be helpful, giving us petrol, though that was not the issue. In the end he dropped us off at an address so we could organise a car to get us home, about 30km away.
All this was done for no charge.
Simply outstanding customer service. I could not fault it, and thoroughly recommend.
This place is amazing. The service is outstanding. The food is the best I have had in Invercargill. I had the scollop's on the potato pom poms for a main. I did not think these two would go together but they did. For a desert I had the cheesecake. The flavours I cannot describe but I wanted more. I will definitely return.
Amazing,The food was perfectly cooked, Presentation was fantastic, And going the extra mile for grandad just made it perfect. its nice to see real people who are genuine still exist out there. Went for dinner with my Husband, Daughter & Son-in law to be. I only have high praises for the delicious, beautifully presented meals. The service and atmosphere was warm and inviting. Will definitely be going back for future dinning. I had the Scollop's, my Daughter had the Pork Belly and the Men had Sirloin Steak and Fillet Steak, all meals were DIVINE. The Desserts yummy made your eyes roll back into your head.LOL!! A fine dinning experience, the best Restaurant in Invercargill in my opinion. Thank you to 148 On Ellis, Well done.

My wife and i had a meal here while staying in Invercargill. We didn't have a reservation but were given a table on a busy Friday night. The food was excellent and the service likewise, we would thoroughly recommend this restaurant from our experience.
Great food and our server was amazing. How she managed a table of nine without writing anything down is beyond me. Yes the decor leads a lot to be desired but the food makes up for it.

The beef fillet I had and the lamb rack my wife had were both cooked exactly as they should have been and how we requested - impeccable.
Lots of flavors in the food, good wine, good atmosphere and good company.
I would rate Elegance highly and recommend it by all means.

Very good atmosphere. Old style house modernised inside. Really good options for menu. Great size meals . Options of Seafood, lamb, vegetarian (one only) venison. Steak. Will come back her again. staff all vaccinated . Plenty of meal options.

We had our 21st wedding anniversary here and food was amazing, the atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were so welcoming and professional, we had amazing service from the moment we walked in to the moment we left, thank you so much team we will be back
You can not fault this restaurant in any way. The food is divine. What I like even more is that the chef grows vegetables that he uses in the menu and he pays just as much attention to the vegetables in his dishes as he does to the meat. The staff are just wonderful as well, welcoming without being overbearing. If I could eat here every night I would have a standing reservation.
