Hubby and I had the most amazing meals. Gorgeous tasty sauces and tender meat that almost looked to pretty on the plate to eat. The service was the best we've experienced in a long time. Every member of the staff was friendly making you feel welcome. We even went back again the next night.Ten out of ten guys you and your food were fantastic. �
The best night in Nelson! As a solo traveller this was such a good environment to have a chat, watch the chefs in action along with amazing food and cocktails 💯 definitely would recommend to anyone travelling here or just passing through :)

An absolute delight !!!!!! From service to ambience to food - cannot fault a single thing even if I tried. All staff, owner, chefs we're really helpful and patient with my wife's dietary requirements and made sure we had an epic time. We are not even a local and can't wait to visit again. Sliders are the bomb, ceviche taco is so nicely done. And don't even get me started on the cheese cake - sooo freakin good. Overall they know how to put food together

By far the best food we have had on our trip to NZ!! Don’t base your decision on overall Zomato reviews, it looks like one person below has given an unfair 1 star rating. We had a chicken, beef, pork and vegetable dish and all were absolutely exceptional. The menu caters to all types of dietary requirements. The staff and chefs provided personalised and friendly service, atmosphere was awesome and food came out lightening fast. Great beer and wine selection, staff were knowledgeable and able to recommend perfect pairings with our food. Unable to fault Urban Oyster, we will be booking a flight back from Australia just to visit again. Where is the 6 star button?? Thank you!!!
Friendly staff, hoppy beer, sun and delicious food. What else would you ask for!! We enjoyed our sliders, lamb cutlet the most. Golden beer is a local craft beer on tap. They also have a great range of bottled crafts.
We almost didn't pick this place because of the rating but a local friend firmly recommended it. We are so pleased We did. Best meal out in NZ so far. The ambiance was a bit to cafe to really be a Restaurant but we could not fault the staff or food at all.
When paying by card you are asked for a tip and the prices could be a little high- however, the food quality demands a 5, would give it a 6 if I could.
One of the best meals we've had during our visit to the South Island - and we've paid more than twice as much per head. The service was friendly and helpful, particularly when it came to gluten free options. We had the ceviche fish tacos, kung pao popcorn chicken, and lamb shoulder. All were delicious - full of interesting flavours and textures. Thanks to all involved for a fantastic meal.
There really is a lot to like about Urban. The menu promises bold and exciting flavours and for the most part, it delivered. Sashimi was excellently fresh and nicely presented with tapioca crisps. The venison tataki with shitake dumplings was solid although the dumplings were a little bland. The highlight was the veal sweetbreads and rack chops - absolutely faultless. Service was excellent throughout and at the end, the man who I took for the manager was happy to hear feedback. Excellent value for money and great to see a restaurant take such pride in what they do.
Urban was definitely one of the best restaurants we have been during our trip in New Zealand. Everything was amazing and the staff was great. We loved our dinner there and we repeated two nights in a row. Definitely a must go if you are around Nelson.

Wow, amazing food. It's very tasty. Chefs awesome. Friendly service and clean. Recommend pork sliders and beef tacos. Oysters from Marlborough Sounds were big and fresh. All food freshly cooked. Fantastic.
Amazing food - all 4 dishes we had (ceviche tostadas, duck tacos, market fish and the tiramisu) were the best meal we had so far in NZ. Cocktails were amazing too. Service was good - we had no reservation but managed to get a table as walk ins. It filled up pretty quickly.

An absolute gem of a spot. If you’re ever in Nelson, give it a go. We had the most delightful dinner, the service was great, chefs were friendly, food was absolutely amazing, can’t fault it.
We were welcomed and provided the best service by Vitalija. She provided excellent recommendations and had full knowledge of all the meals and drinks. We are travelling NZ at the moment and appreciate the service provided and has been the best so far . From entree to shared tapas, it did not disappoint. The food was excellent, flavoursome and fresh. The atmosphere was lovely with great ambient music.
Great place for dinner! We ordered the fresh oysters (natural and nahm jim sauce), market fish crudo, Vietnamese beef tartare, bbq dark breast taco and lamb wrap! It was all pack full of flavours and freshness
This place was definitely one of the top eateries I've been to. Excellent service and excellent menu choice and I was very impressed with the drinks range as they had a variety of cocktails that I had never seen before which was epic to see! Food was divinne. Would highly rate this one as a must go. The smoking Scotsman is a must for anyone who like dark liquor and the spirtz is for all those refreshing people's out there. Add to your must do list.
Beautiful oysters and food was amazing! But just the duty manager was not very nice, they mischarged us for one more dozen oysters, the duty manager refund us but not in a nice way. Great oysters though, we enjoyed.
