Lovely establishment away from the town centre of Nelson in a very peaceful, quiet and relaxing setting. They have really nailed the "Ye Olde English Pub" vibe and it's got a really charming atmosphere. Every member of staff I interacted with was friendly, helpful and seemed grateful for my business. I stayed one night in a small single room and it was very comfortable and featured everything I needed for a good rest. The food in the restaurant was really delicious (especially the Crispy Pork Belly) and the range of beers and drinks available was excellent. I really enjoyed my time here and can highly recommend it if you're looking for somewhere a bit different to the usual country motel.
The location beside the water is superb. The building has lots of character and the staff are friendly and helpful.
We ordered pizza, which was very average and way overpriced at $26 for something that looked like it was out of a supermarket packet.
Had a great catchup with some of our cousin's from the north island had a few drinks and a small meal great atmosphere, staff stuffed our meal order up but fixed it straight away and gave us a complimentary drink, that's great service right their, highly recommend great location, food was amazing, the indoor and outdoor seating was right on the money, plenty of parking, place was cosy and homely.
Enjoyed a meal in the restaurant with friendly helpful staff and quality food. Many diners there on a Monday where the restaurant is available for meals most of the day. Approximately NZD50 per person for a starter and main that was promptly served. Would visit again.
Dropped in for a Beer and an afternoon tea for family. Love the place and friendly staff. Always visit when in Nelson Area
Great to sit outside on a Saturday afternoon, watch the planes overhead and look out over the ocean. Good selection of beers and table service. Place was very busy.
An amazing place to stay at, would like to have stayed longer, hell I'd love to live there 😂, big well equipped rooms with lots of storage areas, beautiful bathroom, a bar and restaurant with a tantalising menu downstairs, awesome service from all the staff, great location.
Excellent food great service and the location is to die for, absolutely recommend this restaurant, hopefully we'll stay next year.
Good rooms of a decent size. Good showers and comfy beds. Clean and nicely presented. Very reasonable prices.
The pub downstairs had great food, not a huge choice but you would be fussy not too find something. The meals were a good size and came out promptly, they were also a good price. Best of all is Guinness on tap.
A lovely old building, but disappointingly few windows you could actually sit and see the view. We went for lunch, not a very exciting menu. I had the beetroot and quinoa salad with chicken - It was a huge serving and a nice combination other than the beetroot tasted canned and actually didn't need the extra chicken.
My husband had salmon bagel but he thought the salmon tasted canned as well.
Couldn't fault the staff though, friendly and helpful.
