We had a late lunch there today. Though the counter service was a bit slow and not particularly friendly, the food was very good.The hash stack with mushrooms and bacon was delicious, and my husband enjoyed his hotcakes. The iced coffees were very good, and came with a mini chocolate fish. Yum.

Breakfasting at 830 a.m. on a bright Sunday morning, and visiting the Beach Hutch for the first time, I found the food (squeak with poached eggs and bacon) hearty and delicious, the decaff flat white coffee very well made, and the service cheerful. Dining on the covered outdoor terrace was a special treat with views of a beach side park and Kapiti Island. Sensible prices.
