Had the biryani of which we shared between 2 people and still wasn't able to finish it off, definitely a big portion for one person. The naan was delicious, and the service was great. Though the masala tea could use a tad but more spices in it. Otherwise everything was good.

Bombay Palace in Frankton seems to be doing brisk business in takeaways (there was a 45 minutes wait for takeaways on the Sunday evening we were there) but it is easy to find a table for a sit-in. We've eaten here twice in two consecutive evenings; the breads are huge and really fantastic. The food is prepared to taste (careful! ask for extra hot and you'll get extra hot), portions are extra large and we just LOVED everything! If you like prawns and fish, this is a great choice. Whether you choose to sit in or order out, don't give it a miss!

Reminiscing India in the heart of New Zealand!

A small town surrounding a clear water lake, Queenstown is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Food is an important part of any experience. And while trying the local food is the logical choice to get a complete feel of any place, being a staunch vegetarian, options are limited. As a result, while traveling, I've found myself missing Indian food on many an occasion.
We visited Bombay Palace on two occasions during our stay in Queenstown. I was happy to note that they had a good selection of vegetarian dishes.
We tried the Malai Kofta and the Veg Kolhapuri. Both of these were quite tasty and quite in line with their counterparts back in India. After certain poor experiences in what was supposedly labelled as "Indian" food in Australasia, I throughly enjoyed my meals here in Bombay Palace.
Recommended.

Amazing flavours. The lamb korma had lovely coconut twist to it and the butter chicken was delicious. Highly recommend! The garlic naans are the size of skateboards! Home delivery took a while but was well worth the wait.

Beautiful small cosy place on the main road with very good Indian food and fast service. Reasonably priced and generous portions of freshly cooked curries.

This is by far my favourite dining establishment in Queenstown. No matter what I eat, the food is always delicious, and I always enjoy my lunch! Also excellent, servers are consistently prompt, cheerful, and courteous. I can't wait to go back and wouldn't think twice about recommending it to anyone searching for a restaurant serving delectable Indian food.

We entered this place with very low expectations. But the food just blew us away. Fantastic!!! Dal makhni is to die for. I am from Adelaide and never had that taste outside of India. Slow cooked for a long time and full of flavour. All other curries we ordered were great too but Dal makhni had my heart.

This curry house is amazing, the best in NZ for me personally. Such good flavours and decent quality/quantity of meat in the dishes. How busy they get is a testament to the standard of food served here. Ring in advance for collection to save yourself the wait because once you step into the restaurant the aromatic smell will drive you nuts. A must for all lovers of Indian food.. cannot recommend it enough.

Amazing food! Really tasty with millions of options to choose from. You can tell the service how spicy you want the food and they make it for you! The portions are really big (everyone was leaving with left overs) and they also do desserts! We had 2 of the curries and a dessert to share and left the place super full. The service is really friendly, even though they are busy. One of the best places i have tried in queenstown and not overpriced!! Like 90% of them. Definitely will be back and recommend to everyone!

We loved loved loved it!!! My friends and I are from Melbourne and have not come across such authentic Indian food. We wish they were also available there (hint hint, nudge nudge). Highly recommend getting their “Indian spicy” level!! We loved it so much we went there for chai the next day and plan to get this for dinner again. ♥️
