The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. Excellent cocktails mixed by fabulous bar staff. Or waiter Lachy was well versed on every dish and more than happy to answer any questions we had about the ingredients. Definitely one of my new favourite restaurants.

Stumbled across this restaurant on our way back to the hotel & decided to try it out. Food & service absolutely brilliant. Restaurant celebrates local produce & ingredients. Our highlight was the seafood chawanmushi, crayfish sandwich & venison!

We had one of our best nights in Queenstown here with a very switched on crew. We were in early and got to chat to the young bloke from Argentina who really knew his barcraft. Great cocktails and wine suggestions. The front of house lady from the USA could not have been more attentive. Wonderful business in the hands of young people having a go on their lap around the world. Menu is now Tapas style and as good as back in Spain. No big stodgy numbers at all. Do yourself a favour.

Words alone can not adequately describe the above and beyond service and exceptional experience of dining here. Five stars is simply insufficient. The food is immaculately presented and the flavours; bombastic. The recommendations are phenomenal. Try everything at least once! Cocktails are accurately described in the menu and further explanation from the staff was delightfully insightful and helpful. The martini style drink that smells of the ocean and had a lemon finish was a fantastic surprise. The service is three Michelin star worthy. Stories of the locally sourced ingredients and wineries were fantastic. Definitively an experience I would go out of my way to have again, without hesitation. Thank you sincerely.

We went two times one for dinnner and the other for brunch. The dinner was quite nice. Loved the salmon dish. Food quality and presentation were bith great. The dinner time staffs are knowledgeable, friendly and experienced. He recommended the best rose I had in NZ. The french toast was so tasty with the vanilla bean cream. When we went back for brunch though... not so welcomed. It took so long to place an order. The hall was quite understaffed...? One staff said something behind the counter; sounded like something didn't go well. We all have bad days but I felt it was quite inappropriate. I immediately felt quite uncomfortable and questioned about leaving. I would go back ... but maybe just for the dinner.

I loved everything about this place from start to finish. The staff, the drinks, the food; I cannot recommend them enough. Each question asked about the food and drinks was answered with such knowledge, and fun facts and information were offered with passion. I'll find excuses to be in the area just to go here again despite living in a different country. The locally sourced ingredients and native spices really did it for me. Thanks for a wonderful night; it'll not be forgotten.

Wow!!! Amazing, the flavours, the food, the wine and the service. Went as a small group of friends who wanted a flash night out and No 5 sure did deliver. The chef came out to explain each dish and his philosophy of using every part of the animal or plant, sourcing from local farms, foraging, and making zero waste. My sad old phone didn’t do the photos justice, but the memory is on par with Michelin star restaurant. I highly recommend the Kura-yaki crayfish dumplings and the Jerusalem artichokes. The duck was outstanding and the dessert was over the top.

The tasting menu is very good - more food than you can eat - ask for recommendations on what drink with the Chefs selection of dishes and you will not be disappointed.

This restaurant is so underrated. Very intimate and a cosy restaurant. The food was amazing. Trust the staff and try everything to share. You won't regret it.

Good cosy little fancy place. Cocktails were great, we were there for happy hour and had quite a few. Fairly pricey, but it is fine dinning. We were there on a Monday night and were the only ones there for most of the evening
