Hands down this place is the best French bakery I've been to in NZ & Aus. Their croissants and sourdough reminds me of ones I tried in Paris. One downside is that they don't stock too much bread so they run out fast but taste wise this place is the best!
Although visiting this cafe was an accident, it is a luck, too! Had breakfast with family on weekend morning, the small busy French cafe at takapuna has mouthwatering pastry, will like come again to try all of them!
So French cafe is super damn cute girl!! Been here a couple times for a crepe or a coffee and it's always been fairly impressive. The crepes are so damn good but I would've liked more flavour on it :( The food looks cute, would love to come back here and try a meal. x
Fantastic tasting crepes, I got the salmon one and it was very very filling but I got through it cause it just tasted so damn good! Had great service also
I get really excited when I see sweet tasty treats! These mouthful size delicacies are fun to eat too!

Was literally looking for somewhere to have a coffee and had passed by last week so decided to drop in. I guess with half of Auckland away, it was the perfect opportunity for a quiet coffee. The staff here are super friendly and I had the best macchiato I've had in a long time. The pain aux chocolate was buttery fresh and my friend loved his latte. I loved the look of the menu and can't wait to try it out when the chef returns. Currently serving the crepes and bakes. Thank you also for the milk to take home. Will absolutely be back. Merci!!
We had such a fabulous evening from the moment we walked in. We were greeted by the genuinely French waiter, and really enjoyed our French gourmet tasting menu... it really feels like we’ve stepped into France for the evening, with the food, wine, ambience, and friendly French waiters. Can’t wait to return to try the rest of the menu.

Fine French dinning in the heart of Takapuna. So French epitomises what every cafe/restaurant in the world should strive for: Service comes before the food. Personalised service with amazing world class food and for those who love great wine, an awesome selection to match.
So French started as a cafe in Takapuna serving mainly a selection of crapes and is now expanding its offer to include a night time degustation (Tasting Menu option) experience.
The option we selected consisted of 6 courses, the main savoury theme being duck. We then proceeded to enjoy the next 3 hours of a magnificent culinary journey as each course arrived. The pièce de résistance being the duck leg confit Croquette, the flavour, texture and taste something heavenly. One of our table also added to the experience with the wine pairing, which I’m told was a journey all on its own.
To say I highly recommend So French is a gross understatement. Looking for your next food journey, look no further!

Just discovered that this cute little cafe has opened up in Takapuna.
The bacon and egg quiche was very good, soft and creamy 💦💦 The little tomatoes in vinegar were the perfect touch.
However, croissant was a bit dry.
Friendly staff. Very attentive. A cosy place with lovely decor.

Cute cafe with superb patisserie. Great coffee too which is a plus. Sat outside on the lovely tables. if you are around Takapuna and feel like real french delicatessen this place is a must.
We had an amazing Sunday breakfast at So French. Highly recommending the ham and cheese crepes. Three cheese was also delicious. I liked che banana split, but i would recommend sharing between 2 people as the chocolate could be a bit too much for 1. The staff was really nice and helpful. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxed, decorated in sweet and cute way. We would definitely go there again.

Fantastic food and staff, every meal is made from scratch with love. It's an open kitchen where you can see them cut each tomato slice, make every sauce for each meal, just amazing :)
It is a great place to have your breakfast on weekends. A bunch of nice people, great services, great food, especially almond croissants (you must try it).
Beautiful food and staff are friendly and helpful. I hope to try the dinner menu sometime soon!
