Gangnam is my favourite kbbq restaurant in Auckland. I don’t even live in the shore but I still travel there for it. The selection is great and so is the price. If you come after 6 the parking is free too! 25$ for this place is definitely worth it! But make sure you book if you’re coming on a Friday or Saturday night as it’s always packed :)
Hi there, I am just wondering if you guys have a variety of vegan options? I don't eat meat, diary products, any kind of animal products, honey etc. And will it be possible to have my own burner and hot plate as I will be dining with family who are all meat eaters. This information would help me very much as I am wanting to try out your food. If you can list items that would be suitable for vegans that will be even more help for me.
Value for money. Affordable and good food. Favourite Korean BBQ on the shore
Dined before lockdown with 8 of us. They only allow one cooker between 4 people. If you want additional cookers you have to pay extra.
They have a vast selection of meat and sauces. The food seems fresh but I would have liked to see more sides and vegetables in the buffet.
Dessert was ice cream and some fruit. There is a 2 hour dining time limit but that's plenty of time.
Hey, it’s another Korean Barbecue place in Auckland, yes, we have lots of them and this is the latest place we visited. I guess a year or two ago we saw this place and checked what they had on offer, I was not impressed during that time due to the lack of choices hence we moved on to a different place which was just nearby, moving on today we got invited and things had changed for the better.
It's a great place to eat with friends/family. But a little concentration on keeping clean serving utensils would be good. Also when we were there recently the girl swapped our tray for a clean one, but when she grabbed the old one she nearly poured scolding hot oil on my family member because she didn't pay attention to it running out the side where it drips out from. This is a serious issue and they need to be very careful with things like this. Especially if it had scolded my family member or a child. She also while putting the new tray on let the oil drip onto the floor and didn't comeback to clean it up which made it a slipping hazard. I know this all seems negative but it's important feedback for health and safety. Food is always delicious though.
This place is also one of the bbq place to dine in! They have quality bbq meat and they serves ice cream for desserts which is amazing! The only down side here is you have to pay for the lettuce wrap which is free to other bbq place! All in all it is still one of the place to try for some korean bbq!
Had good selection of meat and tasted quite good since it was marinated. My favourite was the fried chicken. I also loved how there was ice cream you could grab for dessert and coffee. The service was really bad. The workers were snobby and they looked annoyed when we asked them for something. You could also see a lot (almost all) of the workers just sitting down on the tables next to us. This place would be perfect if the service were better
I'm in love with this place. Your money is worth the variety they're giving. The food and ambience is authentic. The servers are Korean. It's like payiny their countru a visit when going to this place. This is by far the best KBBQ experience that I've had (in New Zelaand and the Philippines). 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Our go to restaurant whenever we are craving for Korean Bbq buffet. 👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼👌🏼 Love their variety of marinated meats. Their Korean Chicken is a must try. Value for Money as well.
Fantastic restaurant. We always come here.
Don’t know why there are negative reviews - heaps of food to choose from, very clean and tastes fantastic! Honestly $35 per person for all you can eat is very fair in this day and age.
Best BBQ in Auckland!
I really liked dessert. I wasn't know name's that but I couldn't eat it. It was scrumptious. 👍
Although the food variety is not many, the food quality is good. I like beef, and pork belly. Seafood and cooked food also delicious. The price is NZD35 for an adult in June/2023
You’ve gotta time it right to get fresh food. Don’t go too close to closing time as they will stop bringing out food. The buffet is simple with a few great staples. Great meat selection. There is ice cream too. They could step up the sauce game. And lettuce. More lettuce! And maybe mushrooms. One of my favorite little KoreanBBQs in Auckland.
This is mine and my partners all time favourite buffet. We love the chicken nibbles here and the variety of meats, seafood, sides. We also love the price $25pp . Cheaper for kids , We often come here whenever we get the chance and we always leave satisfied, happy and full, thats a gurantee. I recommend you book in advance otherwise you risk waiting a half an hour upto a hour because it can get busy. They do have areas for small and large groups. It does get very busy and it is a small place but we enjoy coming here. Yes i would recommend trying it but i know it wont be for everyone , I will highly likely be coming back . Staff are good to deal with aswell we have had no problems
The workers are so lovely! The foods great and prices is good. Uou get a selection of cooked meals and also raw food that you cook yourself. Loved the curry and fried chicken. Good little restruant and great for family/friend get togethers
Good quality fresh meat and a very good grill. The rest of the menu was hit or miss, but nothing too bad. The deserts had plenty of variety and was constantly restocked. I had gotten the last cake they had and ate it, and after 5 minutes the plate had already been full! Also, the strawberry sauce they had for the ice cream is absolutely impeccable. The experience is not the same without it.
Second time to eat here and I just love the unlimited bulgogi and spicy chicken and kimchi.. Two hours of bbq is good enough, and great service! Booking is required!
$28 per person all-you-can-eat buffet.
Foods are quite fresh and there are more variety of options (meat and veges) than most other Korean bbq buffet at this price range.
Due to COVID-19, it is better to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Basic hygiene protocol applies, including using a disposable gloves (provided) and a mask when picking your foods from buffet trays.
One of the nicest Korean bbq in Auckland. They have a wide range of meat and marinate plus alot of vegetables. We arrived on a Monday night and it’s still very busy, so it is recommended that you should book a table first. They only have 15 tables or so, but it is suitable for big group and family. A must try in Takapuna.
