Since it was our first time there, we wanted to try different flavors. Asked for the sauces on the side so we could try each others and they readily agreed. Loved the different texture and taste of the batter. The fries were nice and crispy, though a bit over salty for me but fine for the rest of my family. The drinks were a nice palette cleaner as well. Will definitely recommend and come again if we're in the area!
Coming with friends and share their fried chicken and hot wings with Hazy IPA is the best.
Came her after being influenced in bloody Instagram.. but pleased we did. We had the original and the hot chicken and shared fries. Really filling, juicy chicken and nice and dry coating. Staff were super friendly. Will definately be back.. we spied the salad and the burger and they looked good
We ordered the the Po Boy sandwich- one hot and one Smokey. Both were so tasty. Chicken is easy to bite through which is good in a sandwich so it doesn’t get too messy. We also ordered the shoe string fries with cheese sauce- massive portion.

Upon entry you'll notice straight away the comic book theme. The restaurant is spacious and clean and depite the night time theme of the murals, the space was brightly lit.
With a huge selection of fried chicken flavours, a great selection of sides, if you wanna try a bit of everything, opting for the 'Tasting Box'.
We got the 'Blue Cheese' and 'Kimchi'. Both chickens came in considerably large portions and was served nice and hot. The oil was drained well and the outer layer was really crunchy! You could taste the creaminess and scent of the blue cheese in the sauce but the smell of the blue cheese was subtle as opposes to the strong smell blue cheese has. The 'Kimchi' fried chicken was layered with generous amounts of kimchi inbetween the chicken pieces. Despite this, the kimchi didn't end up too warm or soggy so as you take a bite of the chicken with the kimchi, you get a nice crunch and a good hit of coolness and freshness from the pickcled kimchi.
The combo comes with Hush Pupppies, Hand Cut Fries (all with their own dipping sauces) and a fresh salad which all paired well with the chicken as extra carbs and the salad was refreshing for when you feel like a break from the fried foods.
Overall The Coop is a great place for large group gatherings, for sharing and is definitely a place for a more upgrade version of fried chicken. They have a large range of options of Chicken that should be able to suit everyone.
I tried their original chicken, and the smokey chicken both were super delicious! And their fries was really great too. I was afraid that their chicken would be oily like all the places that serve fried chicken in the city but not at all! So it's safe to say that their fried chicken is the best !
And their staff are really nice and polite. I will definitely eat there again.

I've always seen this place when I'm in Takapuna, but because the lighting inside was so dim, I always assumed the place wasn't open. I ended up finding this place through Zomato and decided to come (not realising it was the same place).
The first thing I saw was one of the staff sitting on the sofa/couch chairs, he said hi, but we were served by another staff member behind the till. Odd but not really a big deal. The guy behind the till was really friendly and patient with us, and I also loved how the order numbers are written on the squeaky chicken toys (these ones don't squeak though which was a little disappointing but I can imagine how irritating it would get if they did). The place wasn't very busy - there was only one other table besides us, however, when we left the place was packed which was good to see.
We definitely ordered a little too much here for two people, but everything on the menu looked really yum, so we ended up getting what we couldn't finish as takeaway. The fried chicken wasn't all the same size, so we ended up with bits of juicy chicken and some slightly overcooked/dry pieces. I loved the hush puppies - they're like cornbread but in cute little bite-sized pieces. The chicken sandwich we got (Kimchi) was also quite good. I'd recommend getting one of their sandwiches to share + fried chicken or sides because it's quite filling!
Chose the tasting box for $45 to share between three as we weren’t that hungry.
Immediately gravitated towards Blue cheese dressing and the cashier recommended to try the Vietnam dressing which didn’t disappoint!
Worth the price minus the hush puppies which were on the stale/ dry side.
Hands down the best fried chicken I've ever tasted! The quality of the cuts and gresh ingredients are superior. Portions will feed you when your hungry or keep you snacking on the amazing flavors. I will never bother ordering chicken from any other restaurant again after eating here. Highly recommended and gets my five stars!!! Keep it up 😀👍👍👍👍👍
Discovered this great restaurant just casually while i was out on a walk through the area. Tried the Po Boy sandwich which had smokey flavored fried chicken. Really loved the sandwich and how the chicken was cooked. Very impressed with overall experience and would definitely be going back to try all the different flavors of fried chicken.
An impulse dinner treat led us to this new chicken place... Neat in black and yellow pillow accent, it was worth the short food order wait. Visit the place and enjoy...
Been here twice now and it hasn't disappointed either time. Staff were super friendly and the food is delicious. Good sized portions and the flavours are pretty good. Hot option could do with a bit more chilli though but that's just personal preference. Will be back.
They have some yummy fried chickens. A must try..the portions are good n cheap.

One of the best fried chicken meals I have had in Auckland. The fusioned fried chicken satisfies different taste buds in any occasions. Other options are available if you are not looking for fried chickens.
Really spicy hot wings. The original chicken and hand cut potatoes are also really delicious. In addition, they have an arcade machine you can use while you wait for your meal.
Good service, plenty of chicken options. Amazing taste, I've got to come back and try other flavours.
Good chicken, good sides, good sauces, good spices. Cardboard and wooden plates, cutlery and cups. Very friendly staff. Our group got 3 Tasting Boxes, everyone enjoyed their choice. The banana milk thick shakes were epic, and the ice tea was refreshing.
Sam makes the best shakes btw!
I got the original and harissa chicken. It was 10/10 however I was a bit disappointed by the sides. The fries were a bit too thick for my liking and the hushpuppies were too dry. Would definitely go back for the chicken though.
