Good icecream, staff and atmosphere. Located off the main road (look for the signs as itโs on a bend) with a decent amount of parking. Fresh fruit ice cream is really good with a few different berry flavours plus they also have your classics straight from the chest freezer as well as Coffee, smoothies and pizza.

Yummy gelato. The pistachio was very nice. Parking is available. The place was very spacious. It was very nice to just relax and talk with your friends. Service was very friendly. They also sell yummy looking big strawberries, but it was not that sweet.
Lovely setting to enjoy some ice cream or gelato. Tried the fig and ginger today and had a great kick to it. The kids had black forest and loved it, they were both in a hurry so they could go look at the fish.
Great size options though I find the bambino size (the smallest) still a little big for under 5s
Have been to Charlies so many times as it is one of my favourite places to get ice cream. Every time I've been, they've had excellent service and the best selection of ice cream! I have the loyalty card, so finally received my free scoop.ย The only problem is the almost fixed line, but that just shows how popular the place is. Always get the apple crumble ice cream as it is my absolute favourite. Have tried the Christmas cherry and white chocolate and raspberry too, which are both yummy. Definitely recommend visiting if you're up this way, and even if you're not, as it is worth the drive!
Yumminess!!!! Every time we visit Matakana we pop into Charlieโs. Their gelato is amazing, love the selection too! I had a double scoop cone with honey and almond as well as pistachio. My husband had the caramel sundae, he ate it in no time as it was so delicious. In the store around the corner you will find beautiful strawberries and other delicious treats.
Charlie's is packed on a rainy day. There are long queues that went outside the main door. There's a huge selection of both gelato and sorbets. They have award winning flavours including Liquorice and Chai Latte but we loved the chocolate sorbet the most!
Great place to stop over on the way to goat island and experience some delicious ice creams and affagato. Good customer service as well. This place is highly recommended!
The gelato at this place is out of this world, I had the Almond and Honey flavour which was oozing with natural honey and flavours. Would definitely recommend to drop by if you are in the area.
We turned up a couple of days after NY and it was packed!!ย There is a wide range of sorbet here, I enjoyed my mango sorbet but I realised too late that they do an affogato with any choice of ice cream you want otherwise I would have done that instead!! The wood fired pizzas smelled good out back, a nice spot

Great range of gelato and sorbet! All tastes great~ Also very affordable compare to some of other places. Great place to stop by for some icy treats after a brunch at the vineyards or a long hike. Order the 4 scoops Tasting Basket if you really keen, that's what we did to share between a couple of us ๐~~

Recommended from family to visit here. Lots of parking available onsite. Loved it. Atleast 15 different types of Gelato to choose from. Hot drinks and double choc brownies on offer. There was also a little section of the store that had locally made/grown products (veges & honey).
Was also a little food truck in the parking lot called Fritters. The Bacon and Egg Sanwich and chips, amazing.
Overall wonderful foodie experience, highly recommend.
This place is great! They have a ton of flavours. The quality is really good and they have a nice outdoor area too. It is reasonably priced. Take the kids, they will love it.
Awesome place to cool down with delicious gelato when visiting Matakana and the surrounding area. During the summer season they also serve wood fired pizza. Thereโs plenty of seating at the courtyard and the โmini vineyardโ at the back. I highly recommend their ice cream spiders!
This place is located right in the center of Oneroa and is not hard to find. For the price of $8 you'll get a fair scoop of particularly delicious ice cream. The flavors to choose from are diverse and the staff is friendly in every way.
Can also suggest getting an iced coffee here. They're open way later than other cafe's and it tastes just lovely. Surprisingly one of the best I've had so far on the island.
Best ever lemon sorbet & doris plum & elderberry gelato all worth the cost.
However the enjoyment during cunsumption had been the views of the vineyard & floral gardens also koi fish pond , with loads of shade & seating made this experience awesome highly recommended

Several times when I've been travelling through the area, a friend has suggested stopping here. I finally did recently. So glad I did. What most impressed me is the variety of flavours, especially a few I've never seen before. I had Chai Latte after a tough decision and really enjoyed it. I'll definitely be stopping by every time I drive past now, so that I can try all the flavours!
