Coming from England (the land of the fish and chips), giving Huckle a five stars is truly high praise!
Everything we had was delicious. Some of the best chips I've ever had and perfectly crispy. Amazing fish with a perfect amount of batter on. Perfectly cooked tender chicken. And that pineapple fritter!- super juicy and an excellent addition of a sprinkle of cinnamon!

We had the halloumi burgers, and they were absolutely divine! SO much flavour and a lot of filling for $12. I would 110% recommend. Seatoun was such a cute place and we could eat by the sea as well 🍔 🌊
Went there for dinner on Wednesday night. It was not too busy. Ordered 6 mussels, 6 oysters, a hot dog and a half order of shoestring fries with the order costing $26.30. The food was cooked well and the batter for hotdog, oysters and mussels were crispy and has a nice chew to it. The half order of fries was a big serving, delicious and good value for the price. I enjoyed the meal and will definitely be back.

Expensive compared to a standard fish n chip shop but you certainly get what you pay for in quality, making it fairly priced IMO. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Only thing I would change, which I saw someone else mention, is put a proper crumbed patty in the chicken burger instead of the strips!

Eaten here takeaway twice as a celiac, staff were on to it and they have a dedicated gf fryer. Fish was best gluten free batter I’ve had in welly in ages.
Great fish, great chips. We ordered Thick chips and Kumara fries as well, both were delish, our fish was good too, crunchy but not over coated. Our burgers, 1x fish & 1x chicken were a little lack luster. Don't get me wrong they were great sizes and the vege patty was a nice touch, kudos for that but IMO needed more flavor punch. ie could the salad be swapped for coleslaw? and the chicken be ACTUAL chicken rather than an inghams tender? Food for thought (pun intented).
Great and quickly served 'chips and sausage on a stick' for after school visit to a playground on a sunny spring evening. And well packaged to keep warm for the short drive to the playground.
Some of the best burgers I have ever had, considering the size of the burgers the waiting time is absolutely awesome. Great owner who seems like they have a great passion for the food they are cooking. Recommended for anyone who wants fast amazing food while in the area!
