New owners but great to see the same great food as always
Called in for breakie here today (Saturday 8 February 2020). Its a lovely little local cafe which is very popular with the locales. Has very good coffee and great cabinet food. Clean toliets & very pleasant outside dining area. Outside back wall could do with a fresh lick of paint though.
This has always been a lovely local cafe - always full of life and all the locals walk on in to eat and catch up.
The coffee is good, and the menu (although limited) produces great food.
Their deli display cabinet is always stuffed with goodies.....

Amazing and unfailingly good food, friendly staff, great coffee and ambiance.
I particularly enjoy interacting with the owners and the flexibility in altering whats being ordered in the last minute.

Truly delicious cafe in Parnell. Fresh homemade eclectic dishes for breakfast and lunch whilst still serving kiwi favourites. Takeaway option a bonus from the deli. Coffee great. Owners a joy. Can not recommend highly enough!
The first time I visited I had the mushrooms for breakfast and they were the best mushrooms I've ever eaten, so creamy and flavoursome. The next time I came I ate the chicken Bahn Xeo and it was just as delicious. Lovely vibes here and a lovely family-run business. Thank you and see you again soon! :)
Love love love. A friend and I had breakfast and the food was delicious and memorable. We will make this a regular stop to enjoy beautiful food, lovely decor and warm and friendly service.
Lovely decor and beautiful china cups. I ate the lamb and rosemary pie and my partner had the Brighton Road Stack. Beetroot chutney was given with my pie which was so delicious I ordered a pottle to take away with me.
Finished our meal off with lemon meringue pie and passionfruit custard slice - all homemade.
Will definitely be coming back!
Visited friends in Auckland and came across this AMAZING café. Spoilt for choice. The selection of gorgeous homemade produce is outstanding. Hard working family business I believe; run with energy and passion. Would highly recommend.

A lot of the reviews and photos here pertain to previous iterations of this café. As of 2023 it is under new ownership and has been extensively renovated and rejuvenated. So the ratings, reviews and photos from earlier than this do not do it justice.
The fit-out is lovely, with more seating capacity than previously, but it does not feel crowded. The counter food (baking in particular) looks exceptional and I'm very keen to come back for a cheese scone.
I must admit I was disappointed by the menu, which was absolutely basic generic brunch. No lunch items and no protein other than eggs. But when our meals arrived I couldn't fault them on quality or presentation. Portion sizes were generous but not excessive. Overall it was a good dining experience and we'll very likely be back.
I’m so glad to see this Cafe take a new lease on life! It’s just been beautifully renovated and under new ownership (thank goodness). The Cafe has experienced an identity crisis up until now - it’s looking beautiful, so aesthetic and lovely food! Great coffee! Everyone is so happy this place is back to former glory! Well done to whoever has taken charge!
Great food and wonderful service, came back here twice now. first time was just ordering an coffee but this time actually have time to enjoy the food. Strongly recommend the egg benny with bacon as they use Hellers honey streaky bacon and their homemade hollandaise sauce, you can really taste the hint of honey.
Organic food ingredients match with Italian brand organic coffee. Price they offered its worth for spending on it.
Roadside free parking for 2 hours is great for catching up with friends too. We loved it.

Found a park almost outside the cafe. It was about 2:00 pm on a Friday afternoon when we stepped into a space full of conversation. The cafe was abuzz with an early afternoon crowd and I was surprised by the number of people considering it was well past lunch service. The shelves were picked over but the Leader and I selected the pie and vegetables. I ordered a cappuccino, double shot, small cup with chocolate for the Leader and that arrived very quickly and was consumed almost as quickly.
The pies were a long wait. There were fewer customers arriving than leaving at the time and I did begin to wonder if the order was lost. I was amused by an article from one of the selection of magazines on offer and the meal arrived.
It looked great and tasted as good. So good that I was straight on to the meal as soon as it was placed in front of me. I was licking my lips and making satisfied piggy noises before I realised to had forgotten to take a picture of the meal.
Over all, happy to pay and will return.
