You wonder why it's always full because the sushi is $3.50, and totally worth it. I love having edamame on the side, there was plenty to go around till the end of our stay. All their sushi is fresh and delicious. There wasn't any salmon as they're trying to help reserve the shortage of salmon in NZ - which is very considerate of the business. The service is great too, staff are friendly and attentive. The best bit is they welcome in Japanese, which is culturally important to sushi.
$3.8 per plate, good quality sushi, but often you can’t find what you want on the train, so you have to place order directly to the chef and they will make it fresh for you. very reasonable price sushi in CBD. Recommend their grill salmon sushi
There are a wide range of sushis and other dishes such as udons. You can also order from the menu. Most of the times the market fish available is quite limited. Other than that, the food never disappoints! The staff are always friendly.
I love love love this place.
There is an impressive selection of sushi and snacks on rotation including some hot dishes and dessert items. Pretty much everything is $3.50, generally for 2 pieces, which makes this around $1.75 per item - only a little more than individual sushi’s at most takeaway restaurants however this is a different and exciting dine in experience.
Then menu items are great as well, if you cannot see your favourites on the conveyor or would like to try something new! They also have special seasonal items which I believe change monthly. I highly recommend the agedashi tofu dish if you’re curious, it is delicious.
It's nice that all their plates are the same price - $3.50. Very good value for money, as there are some other sushi train restaurants which charge unbelievably expensive prices for a plate. My favourite sushi here are Grilled Chashu and Grilled Scallop!
I absolutely love this sushi train! The best things by far are the grilled sushi! Such as the grilled salmon, grilled unagi (eel) and grilled scallop 🤤🤤 I also recently tried the chicken karaage mini udon, and it was soooo yummy! I'm definitely coming back for the big sized version!
Great little sushi place in town that's really handy for sushi lovers that work in the area. Great staff and the food is delicious. I actually really like the little dessert dishes as well. Price depends on how much you eat, each plate costs $3.50 and theres some menu items that cost a bit more. Really good
Great value for money with everything being $3.50. I love how there is a great variety of food. We recently tried another sushi train place and with it being triple the price it doesn't even compare!
I’ve been going to Sushi Train for a year now and it has become our go-to kaizen-sushi or conveyor belt sushi in Auckland.
🍣 : The nigiri here screams of freshness. I have not had the ship sushi, so no comments there. But the nigiri and rolls have never disappointed me. The other non-sushi items are pretty good too and the ramen is unexciting. But, hey, it’s called “Sushi” train so my rating mainly represents that. My favorites would have to be the Basil Salmon, Eel, Sweet Prawn and the creamy Croquette.
💁💁♂️: You can either pick up your sushi from the conveyor belt or order it (or other items) through the staff. However, orders can take longer when the place is packed. Otherwise, the place is well staffed with competent people.
💵: Very, very affordable. Especially considering the quality we’re dealing with here. I believe the cheapest of its kind in the city?
💺: Quite spacious with great views of Chancery. It’s especially nice to see the sushi chefs at work in the middle of the conveyor belt, really creates a fun atmosphere for the diners.
Overall: The good outweighs the bad by miles!
One of our all time favorite restaurant , great place to dine with little ones, very friendly service and food is tasty. Parking is easy as well, offers a wide range of Japanese drinks and sushi. Love it
I should have tried sushi on the train, but I ordered off the menu and unfortunately due to timing had to come back and pick it up so I didn't really get to sit long in the restaurant. This is one cool looking place and they even have a robot that buses tables. Well worth a visit
Super delicious!! Oh my goodness, the seafood is so yummy! Scallops (sooo fresh and sweet) were our favourite, both the sashimi and grilled 😋
A large variety of seafoods, sashimi, sushi, udon, drinks, desserts and more! You can request and order your own choices on the menu or take stuff from the conveyor belt. We tried the udon with tempura, was so YUMMY!
Staff and chefs were so kind! Very attentive as well, service is 10/10. Some of our meals were sent by robots, very cool 😆
Atmosphere and restaurant was clean, but can get quite busy! I believe there is an option to book however :)
Overall, everything was amazing! Would totally recommend and come back again!
Friendly service here, the sushi are really nice. Spicy scallop is quite special, like it. Also recommend the grilled scallops
Sushi Train had their winter promotion today, they were packed with lots of people. However, the staffs are still very kind and helpful when we were there in the late evening. After waiting for an hour, we then choose to have takeaway and those sushi were packed with so much care. Thank you!
Had lunch with my family including 4 grandchildren. Great food. Enjoyed their sushi and ordered some ramen. My mokos love the cream brulee, tiramisu, and chocolate cookies. Had fun with the ketty bot. Downside, there was a queue. We waited for about 20mins before we had a table for 9. Highly recommended 👍
Food is good, $5 per plate, any plate.
Staff are polite.
Premise is kind of bland and the lighting is nothing special but it's a great place to eat anyway.
Awesome sushi I love this brand. We mostly order the sushi we want which means they come out freshly made. The chef was great and obviously took pride in her work. We had an early dinner here and there weren't many others in the restaurant when we started so not much on the train yet. Nice selection of beers and traditional wines.
The food was served fast and fresh. Yummy as always and so many options, this become my regular stop :) The chef and the foh lady are both friendly. Highly recommended for every sushi lover to try.
I love all things Japanese, and I'm a massive fan of Sushi. The food was fresh and the tastes were authentic. Their Wasabi was some of the best I have ever had, made my nose burn and my eyes water, what a rush.
Love this sushi train. It's pretty conveniently located in the city, plenty of parking nearby. Really casual atmosphere and friendly service. Menu has plenty of options and the quality of sushi is good for the price. Super easy as all plates on the train are a single price ($4.90) and if you want extras it's quick to order and relatively cheap too. There's a cool little robot that drops off your orders which is a cute gimmick. Grab a plum wine or a handle of Orion and it makes for a nice, casual, affordable meal out.
