A popular cafe in the middle of an industrial area. Not like the ordinary lunch bar. Delicious food with reasonable prices and good service to match as well. Will definitely visit again.
Had a taster of their Mango cake and it was so good! It was very moist but light and fluffy at the same time. There was a layer of jelly to add in that extra Mango kick. Super fresh and creamy. Good level of sweetness. Love the presentation as well.
Since I discovered Gateau House - I haven’t been elsewhere for cakes! Everything is full of flavor and made to perfection! My favorite has to be this Cookies & Cream Slice. 😍
I wrote this for the Mt. Eden store as well. As far as I know, they've been out there for over a decade at least (I had been going since I was uni student) and the quality never let me down. It's consistency across the stores (been to a few) and the customer service is absolutely what stands out. Very patient and are willing to listen to your demand. Great people, great coffee at this place too. When it comes to coffee, I become very fussy and detailed, and this place seems to be making much nicer coffee than those over-rated cafes.
I highly recommend the chocolate mousse cake. I got the chocolate ganache it was a bit too rich for me... the mango mousse is hubbys favourite. They do gift cards so our last purchase was 10% off. Friendly staff too.

Their new mango fresh cream cake is delicious. Fruity, soft and has the right amount of sweetness. Make sure you order at least 24 hours in advance so they can set the cake aside for you.
Nice coffee. Never ever have such strong Long black ever. Dark n with good favour. Together with yummy mud cake that’s not too sweet. I missed this during my tiredness working day.
staff is very polite and friendly. Organised a pick up a week advance and the cake came in lovely! Just the macarons were a bit soggy and very delicate compared to other macarons I’ve had. I’ve tasted other cakes here and I think that the cakes I’ve had here was lovely!
We ordered a cake for the youth group at church. The cake was beautifully decorated, the taste was great and the customer service was outstanding. Sarah (forgive me if I'm wrong), the manager of the place gave us the best experience. The place was busy with many customers and yet she acknowledged us straight away. Introduced us to this barista who won a prize at a barista comp. So I tried it out and I was blown away. Milk texture was great, temperature was bang on, extraction time of 27 seconds and had good body as explained by Sarah. 5/5 for coffee, customer experience and the cake. She also mentioned they will bring out new beans by mid August. Definitely coming back for it. And going to let other people know more about this place. Great work guys! It's a shame I didn't take the photo 😅

I ordered a medium size chocolate moose cake with the shiny glaze on top ($66?) for my 21st, firstly the staff who helped me was superb and very patient with my questions, she shown me what different cake looked when it’s cut and explain the texture to me. It was ready early Saturday and it was beautiful when I picked up!!! The cake was delicious and so glad I went with moose cake because I don’t like heavy chocolate cake. The sweetness was perfect!! And sizing it was literally also perfect for 16 girls!!(everyone had a small slice) with no leftovers no wastes.
This is our go to place for cakes for any celebration. They always have stock so it doesn't matter if you left it for the last minute. I walked in on the day of Father's Day without placing any orders, pointed out the chocolate mousse cake on display and they boxed one for me on the spot. Beautiful, elegant and delicious cakes for reasonable prices.
The chocolate mousse cake is the family favourite, along with the mango mousse cake. They're not overly sweet and the layers make a lot of fun textures.
The lady at the counter was also very patient and helpful. I was somewhat indecisive as I was spoilt with options, and even though there was a small queue forming, she remained polite throughout the interaction and didn't rush at any point.
I definitely want to try all their cake flavours, so I will be returning for our other special occasions soon.
Ordered a chocolate mousse cake for mum’s birthday, best chocolate mousse! It has a layer of sponge in it, which is a good balance. Most importantly the cake is not too sweet! As we don’t like heavy, sugary desserts
The coffee walnut slab was pretty good too, nice coffee flavour, has addition of nuts and fruits in it, if you are not a big sweet tooth then I’ll recommend the cakes here
We ordered the Marble Chiffon cake but requested they decorated the top in the style of the Chocolate Chiffon. We also requested the hole which is in the top of the cakes to be filled in. They did exactly what we requested. We were thrilled with the quality and taste of the cake. Happy to recommend The Gateau House!

Bought a birthday cake and it was certainly a crowd pleaser. Worth the spend. The cake was moist, soft, layered cookie cream and most importantly light. Going for seconds is unavoidable☺️They have huge variety of delectable flavours to choose from. The packaging is sustainable and top notch.

The two lady's who were working this shift were both so helpful and insightful on which cake to choose. Was having a hard time to choose between two choices and the asian server was very prompt and honest on answering my questions.
I have bought 2 cakes from here now.
Mango fresh cream - nice and light, gives trifle vibes the taste of the sponge. Not to sweet and the Mango comes through just perfectly.
Strawberry mousse cake - I bought this during the summer while it was strawberry season and this too was another light, not to sweet tasting cake. Beautiful texture and melts in your mouth just like the cake above.
There's a good number of tables here. Kid friendly as they have coloring pencils and sheets which is cute to keep your kids happy and distracted if you decide to sit down and eat here.
Clean and tidy, highly recommend this branch.

Love this place! Best coffee in the area (hands down!) and a huge selection of buns, rolls and of course amazing cakes and treats for that special occasion. They are almost too pretty to eat!!
