Great place for takeaway during level 3 and price is also kind. Children will run and smash their teeth.
Fantastic. I love this place, the dumplings are amazing and the noodles are great too. Staff are extremely polite! Will continue to make this my regular!
Love the dumpling in spicy sauce and portions are quite reasonable
Note to self:
Always get the beef noodle soup. Even if you donât feel like it. You only think you donât feel like it but the moment the smooth noodles and that beefy broth hits your tongue you will thank me. Well, yourself. Myself? Oh, and ask for mild spicy unless youâre specifically in a vanilla mood for beefy broth in which case go for no spice. Itâs still good although the little bit of spice does add that extra tasty kick. Do it. Donât fall into the temptation for medium because you werenât born with that particular super power. Small size is enough and youâve got a decent appetite for your age, gender, and ethnicity. Go for large only if you want to experience being an All Black.
Dan dan noodles are good but you donât want to get it again because youâre not a big peanut person. Recommend it to others who do like it because it did taste good.
Skip the sweet and sour pork on rice. The portion was great but the taste was a bit bland for your preference. Which is a surprise because the guo bao rou (crispy pork with sweet sauce) is so good. The meat is on the thin side but the crisp is great, the sauce isnât sickeningly sweet and the ginger and coriander perfect the dish. Oh - ask for more coriander next time. Make it your go-to main dish.
On carb loading days, get the dumplings. On days you want savoury, get the wontons. Both are good. Big and generous with fillings. The best around. Again, mild spicy since youâre a weakling. Accept it and move on.
Be kind to the lady at the front - she is always lovely. Friendly and enthusiastic. Take a paper bag for takeaway. Try eating in the restaurant next time, the restaurant has always been clean every time youâve gone to pick up your food. Maybe consider going weekly. Make it your soul food.
Basu lounge has the BEST chicken wonton soup and I always order the chefs special spicy sauce too which is amazing! Iâm not a noodle person but their dandan noodles are great too and i always order stir fried pork and garlic sprouts too! :)
Beef noodle is amazing! My kids love it so much.
Best food on the shore! Can easily feed 2 people for 20 bucks. It's always busy so foods always fresh, and the staff are always super nice and friendly!
It was recommended by a friend. Great service and lovely atmosphere. This restaurant is one of the best dining restaurants Iâve had in NZ.
We ate Chefâs recommendations and enjoyed all our selections.
The food tasted great. You can tell that the chef is very passionate about what he is doing. Food great, service great and environment is clean making the experience really special and really memorable.
Really yummy Dandan noodle!! Higly recommend spicy one.
Amazing Sichuan style noodles and dumplings. Food was served with a generous portion and inexpensive price. Relatively low wait time as well if you are after quick Sichuan style lunch/dinner you can not go wrong with this place.
Must try the beef noodle and chicken dumplings. Do be careful with the spiciness level because it was even mild was HOT.
Best wonton noodle I have had, ever. The medium spice was perfect for me (other people might find it a little spicy). Very generous portion sizes. Only little niggle I feel they should have had some napkins on the table, instead of going back to the main counter to get them
The staff are nice and friendly and not in your face which made the experience more enjoyable for me. Everything is clean and tidy.
I will be back to try there dumplings
We are regular customers and our orders are always consistent and generous for the price. Service is with a smile and cost very reasonable. The dumplings are huge and very tasty! The noodles are wonderful. Haven't tried the rice yet because we love the noodles and dumplings so much. The broth is very tasty. Highly recommended!
So here we have dan dan noodles from basu lounge. We had chicken dan dan noodles and chicken dan dan noodles. Now, lets come to the taste. The taste was yum as there were dumplings too but I personally don't like peanut sauce and it was too much. But I would recommend you all to go and taste it. I am sure there are many peanut lovers too.đâșïž
Hands down favourite dumplings in the whole wide world has to be the pork and chive in spicy sauce. Their âhotâ is not to be underestimated, but even though it burns a little for me itâs well worth it.
Dan dan noodles a nice accompaniment to the dumplings but not a must. Portion sizes are huge so always go for the Small if in doubt.
Fell in love with the original Basu Lounge in Takapuna but I really rate their Browns Bay location more.
Fantastic experience here. This is the restaurant you have to try. Left me the best impressions. Not only food but also services. I love fried and sourced pork slices the best. Fried potatoes, capsium and eggplant also pretty good. My friend told me mapo tofu is also great. Will try next time.
First thing comes to my mind is that it is spacious & comfortable than the first branch that is on takapuna. Friendly staff & undoubtedly massive menu.
Food is great! Basu make killer veg dumplings. A must try place.
Parking could be a challenge sometimes. Bus stop nearby.
đ Quickly became a regular customer. Definitely a place to stop. The dandan noodles and dumplings are definite favs but don't hesitate to try their other dishes.
