We got $800 food voucher from Auckland Airport compensation.
So we ate from all the restaurants at the airport and binged at this one too. The food is not bad, being bar food.
How you expect the food to taste is exactly how it tasted. No surprises. Good, but nothing over the top special.

Good service & nice location to sit & wait for a flight. TVs are on & there is a nice window area overlooking the hotel.
Good range of Macs beers & also wine list covering all the faves. They have a range of meals and bar snacks. Their beer battered fries with aioli are a must order
Nice breakfast but service let us down a little - one sat for 5 mins before finally being delivered! Fortunately management saved the day with a fresh replacement & refund.

We got the chips first, which are amazing (best in NZ in my opinion!)
And then the pizzas, burger and fish n chips came out.
Only problem with the food was the Beehive pizza was burnt but as soon as we let the staff know they took it away and made a brand new one!!

My NZ family and I had actually visited this place a few times when one of us travels overseas. However, this is the first time we've actually ordered meals as usually we only had drinks.
Dad had Beef nachos with sour cream and guacamole, Chris had the vegetarian version of Dad's meal, Mum chose the Kumara chips with chilli sauce and sour cream, and I had Spanish omelette with mushroom and potato with salad on the side. Wow, they were delicious! I was surprised how light the omelette was but Mum did confirm that Spanish omelette is always made that way, by separating egg yolks from the egg whites, beating the whites until foamy, then folding into the mixed yolks.
Drinks were equally nice too. Would definitely have a meal again when visiting the airport another time.

UPDATE: We did visit few more times, ordering different meal. Food is still really nice, highly recommend this place.
Went here a couple of weeks ago, the staff were really nice and friendly. Food is ordered up at the bar and we got the Fettuccine Carbonara, Feta & Caramelised Onion Tart, Grilled Chicken with Avocado, Bacon, Salad & Brie in Toasted Pide, and the Venison, Blue Cheese & Caramelised Onion Pizza, as well as sides of Chips & Kumara Chips. It all came out really quick but it was rather quiet when we were there. The pasta was delicious and creamy, the tart nice and crisp, and the chicken was very good - really nicely cooked and a really big portion. The pizza was nice but the venison lacked a bit of flavour and there wasn't much of it (especially for $25). The chips were really good - super crunchy and served with aioli, and the kumara chips were the BEST - also really crunchy and come with sweet chilli sauce and sour cream (and aioli if you ask for it ;) ). Will be returning :)
Making this a bit of a nostalgic routine of getting the Kiwi Burger each time that I have to leave my partner here as I fly back to home to visit. Comfy chairs along the windows and walls, really nice decor all around, and plenty of TVs for sports and such. Burgers and meals around $21 but expected for the airport. Airport toilets aren't too far away either.
Great service and food at the Cafe today. We were a large family group with four children. We were well looked after by Maryann and George who went the extra distance to ensure our visit was enjoyable for everyone. Well done.
Such a good food here. We have ordered Homemade Kiwi beef burger and Griled chicken with bacon, avocado, salad & brie etc. and fries. We have to say that the cheef knows what he does! It was really tasty, specialy the chicken. Servis was ok. Doesn't look happy but everyone has bad day :)
For an airport this is a great bar/cafe/resto. Just had rib-eye steak, chips and salad with a bottle of sauvignon blanc for under 50 NZD.

My favorite place for dining at the Auckland airport. This is located before entering the departure lounge. Nice food and bit busy place.
Difficult to find a seat but the scarcity made the venue feel more exclusive. Great chips! I had a lovely experience.
