Their menu change everyday. They provide a 3 course menu; with options of meat or vege for entree and main. We tried both vege and meat dishes. They are Okay, on the day we go, all dishes are a little sour. I think I will go back again when we go to Christchurch again.

Story is a most excellent restaurant. They have a 3-course set menu they change every week. This week we started with an excellent salmon and juniper dish. This is a classic west-coast USA salmon combination executed perfectly, and the chardonnay pairing was just wonderful! The second course was a duck a l'orange to die for. I have always loved this dish, and made it several times myself - they executed it perfectly. But for me, the best dish was the dessert. It was a magnificent combination of lemon curds, tiny dollops of cream, pear puree, two types of biscuits, and two types of meringue. Each part of the dessert was delicious, but put together it was truly sublime. It was so good that while I sipped the dessert wine - which as excellent - I quickly decided to have sips of water to separate the wine and the dessert as there is no wine that could possibly match the quality of the gestalt experience of eating that dessert. My wife and I will be back, and I recommend anyone go visit - repeatedly!
Great little place that does a seasonal menu that changes daily. They were very accommodating last minute and the waiter was great. We had amazing meal - flavour that slapped the tastebuds. Would come back!
My wife and I had dinner tonight and are extremely satisfied with their food! Each kind of ingredient matches so well and enhances the flavor. Will definitely come back cause their menu is different every night😁
Epic restaurant! The food hère is exceptional, exciting and unexpected. The Chef Shafeeque is friendly and when we ordered the same dish again (because it was so good), he whipped up for us a variant of the same dish which was better than the original.

Such a nice meal! We were walking on the street when we saw this little restaurant with some fancy cookbooks on the front window and we decided to give it a try.
3 course set menu only, my kind of offering where I don't need to stress over what to chose out of an extensive menu.
Starter was a miso glazed eggplant with a pickled onion, cashew and mint salad. Delightful.
Main was lamb rump with courgette, potato and pesto. So tasty!
Dessert was a slightly savoury chocolate mousse, rhubarb granite and cardamon cream. Very playful.
Will definitely be back on my next trip to Christchurch.
Food was delicious. Had the cloudy bay clams, deep fried Brussels sprouts and Tandoori king salmon. Would love to come back and try out other dishes on the menu!

Sometimes, a restaurant is perfect for the food and/or the person you are sharing dinner with. In this case, it was also because of our host, from India. Not just a great service but also we could share our Stories. If each dish comes with its story, people also do :-). Thank you for a great evening.
Delicious food! Not a huge range of vegetarian options and the meals are small for the price charged, however the meals are fantastic! Tried 4 entrees and main was the short rib which was very good. Also tried both desserts and would highly recommend both the chocolate tart and feijoa mousse
Great food - but personally a bit expensive for what it was (overall) and I got the first table discount 😁
