This little gem has a BEAUTIFUL menu and such a great selection of choice. It caters to every taste - fresh burgers through to seasonal salads. It is really reasonable and your food is served in no time! The drinks menu has such a variety - craft beers, local to international. The wine menu is a true winner too! The staff are beyond wonderful - friendly and cool. Such a great place to have a nice meal, drinks or watch the rugby! Great outdoor area which is well heated too. It has now become our new favourite local! :)
We arrived on a very busy night without a booking and the male waiter said that there could be a table for us in 15 minutes if we were happy to wait. When other people tried to nab the table that eventually came free, the waiter told them that it was already booked - for us! Super impressed that he remembered us. Awesome service and meal - we would definitely return 😃
Went here for a team lunch $12 lunch menu has a great variety and the sizes were good. Staff was attentive and food came out quickly (we ordered at 1.30 after the lunch rush. Caters for vegetarians also. I had the chicken and sun dried tomato spaghetti, was a bit soupy but it was tasty. Steak sammies were popular with the lads and some opted for the dumplings.
This is the hotspot to be for happy hour or before a concert/sporting event at Horncastle or AMI Stadium. I hope you like meatballs! Most of the menu is dedicated to meatballs served many ways. Not a meatball lover? Fear not, there are other pasta/meat/pizza options as well as a small bites menu that features chips, dumplings and the like. I recommend the pizza. Great finger food for sharing with friends. This place gets ROWDY, particularly before a big event, so don't plan to come here on some intimate date. I also highly recommend a booking (weeks in advance for a big night) if you want guaranteed seats. The place fills up fast. It is expensive, but it deserves to be as it's arguably one of the best dinner options on Lincoln (for now).
Just a great little restaurant. Very reasonably priced. Well portioned meals. Meatballs are fab!! Entrees, very big!! Dumplings recommend!! ❤️ every bit, great value for money! Picture of our dish is below!
Stumbled upon this place by chance and so glad we did. Must admit to being a bit disheartened when hearing it had a meatball theme, but this was totally misplaced. Between the four of us, two had the Luigi (pizza) - one with beef and creamy pesto sauce, one with lamb and Jack Daniels sauce, one of us opted for the Juan Pablo with lamb and roast tomato sauce and I chose the shepherds pie vegetarian with creamy pesto sauce. Every one of them was wonderful from the rich lamb and JD to the subtle vegie and pesto. Coffees, usually the downfall of bar/cafes, were great if a little long in the making, and we loved the decor. Would have liked a little more direction from the waitress re: combinations (what their fav was, what went well together, their recommendations etc) but, hey, we were rapt with what we cobbled together ourselves so no worries :) Friendly, funky, fun way to spend a Tuesday lunchtime; we'll be back
Went here last night for dinner and after looking at the menu I was very excited.
Had the chilli squid as an entre and it was cooked perfectly. A bit spicy (obviously) but the squid was just so yummy!
I had angus beef meatballs with the jack daniels bbq sauce on a hoagie, and omg was it delicious! That sauce! It got a bit much to the end but I gobbled it all up. That sauce would also go perfectly on ribs. My mate got the naked lamb meatballs with the same sauce. We shared some chips but it was definitely not needed.
The service at Morrell & Co is incredible. The staff are very on to it and our meals were out very quickly! The tap beer is also very well priced and they have a wide variety at the bar.
Simply loved going there and I think I am going to have to make it my local from now on!
Went there recently for a late Sunday lunch. I love the menu. The main theme is meatballs, choose from several types, including vegetarian, then choose a sauce and then choose how you want them done.. just in sauce, spagetti, on a hoagie, as a sheperds pie amoung other options.
I had Lamb balls in a cheesey cream sauce as a Hoagie and my partner had the rice balls in a BBQ sauce in a pie. Both were very tasty and hearty and the prices are really reasonable. They also have other dishes on the menu if you're not into meatballs, but I do suggest you give them a try!
Great service and friendly people too... I liked being able to see through to the kitchen.
I guess the only thing I didn't like was the decor.. looked cold and sterile and with the metal chairs it didn't feel cosy, but I think it is designed to be a bar rather than a cosy romantic hideaway, so that's no real issue. We will definatley be back as the food is great and it's so close to my house!!
Lovely meal, great service and a fantastic atmosphere, recommend for anyone wanting a great night out for dinner and a drink!!
A convenient spot for a drink before a show at the nearby arena. Some reasonable food offerings and a range of drinks available. Would be nice for after work drinks
We just called in the watch the races for a couple of hours. The staff were welcoming and very hospitable. They really went out of their way to make a small day out really memorable, including one staff member running down to the TAB to place a hurried bet for me. Now ya can't get better than that!
Always a great place to visit. A very busy night and staff u der a lot of pressure. Still up to the job though.
Only had Coffee, it was great along with the service! Will have breki next time, the cabinet looked very colorful n healthy

We had booked a table for dinner incase it was busy there being a Saturday night, pleased we did as it was a very popular place to be. Wait staff were prompt and friendly, helpful with questions and offered great service. The food was delicious. Salt and Pepper Squid entree was excellent and my rib eye steak was cooked to perfection. Thoroughly enjoyed our night here and would definitely eat here again.
The food is pretty good however the chicken was underdone on the Caesar Salad. In the absence of this, the food is good. The cauliflower entree is a delicious vegetarian option.
Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. The staff were super friendly from the get go - relaxed and welcoming. We tried the panfried dumplings and spicy chicken wings. So delicious. And the dipping mayo was yum. Good selection of beers at good prices. We started here before a concert at Horncastle Arena and ended up here afterwards too.
We didn't eat but saw pizzas on other tables that looked pretty good. Nice place to hang for a few drinks with friends .
A great place to be after the NZ Cup trotting Cup.The band was good and the atmosphere and bar service excellent. Clean bathroom.
Walked in half way thru quiz night. Got most wrong even though not actually taking part.
I had the Buffalo pizza...very yum and had to take some home.
Partner had steak .... corn on the cob looked nice but was still frozen in the center.
Staff were great and made up for it.
Could gave been a bit warmer in the dining area however will come back.
