Stopped in for some lunch today and had the ploughman's platter and the chocolate dream cake. The food tasted amazing, and the chocolate cake, in particular, was to die for.
I had the most amazing chocolate cake made for my daughters 3rd birthday! The cake was honestly the best chocolate cake ever!! And Lauren the colour that we choose was absolutely beautiful !! You guys were amazing to deal with super easy! and I had a very excited happy little girl.

Came in for a high tea for my Mum's birthday and was utterly delighted. Drinks were beautifully presented - love the glassware! - and the tea was hot and topped up no problem. Thought we'd demolish the tasty treats in record time but ended up not finishing everything as food was delicious and very filling. Loved the cheese tarts and the little lemon meringue pies especially but everything was perfect. Staff were an absolute delight and the setting is second to none. Wonderful way to treat Mum and will definitely be back for breakfast soon. Menu looks amazing and the Paris tea is sublime.
Had the absolute pleasure of having high tea here for my grandmother's birthday - the food was delicious, the presentation was amazing, and I can't fault the service at all! The nibbles looked a little small for the price but actually by the time we left, we were all happily, deliciously full. The young ladies who looked after us were so friendly and kind, and I'll absolutely be coming back for high tea again on another occasion - and back for a casual cup of tea and a scone some time for sure! Everything was perfect, 10/10 experience, couldn't recommend it more 😊
Before we leave this city, we visited here again for the best cheese scone and custard in Christchurch.
Their staff was super friendly. When we told her that we received a wrong order, she smiled and gave the new food. We will keep a fond memory.
Service from Angel was exceptional and the food was delicious, tea was basically cold so one small let down but otherwise it was a fabulous high tea. The decor was beautiful and the Tannery over all was a beautiful hidden gem.

We had high tea here this afternoon and it was the best high tea I've ever had. We're vegetarian and usually the options aren't great but here all of them were amazing and a great variety too.
Would highly recommend coming for high tea if you're considering it.
Lovely setting and vibes too!
We were given a long table for 7 people in a quiet corner/room. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience from the vibe, atmosphere, to display on the table and surroundings. Nice and friendly staff, all had smiles on their faces all the time no matter how busy they were. Staff were all super attentive too, filling up water glasses and checking with us about food and drinks like they really cared not just an SOP. They also took the time to patiently walk us through drink options for big and small kids. Great range of high tea items. Savoury layer came with sandwiches, cheese tart, and a rice ball (forgot what it's called but a bit salty). Middle layer offered two scones (soft and tasty) with jam and cream on top, a cookie and a chocolate cake. Top layer has a citric pudding meringue tart, and blueberry cake. Good tea selection and alcoholic range.
Staff with very kind smile, quick response service even they were busy . Above all, I was impressed by the delicious food, pretty bowls, and elegant interior. Absolutely It's best place I want to recommend the most in tannery🍀
Our first time in Victorian Tearoom and it was amazing, Sarah/Sara 😊 our host and the baker👩🍳 is very accommodating. It was indeed a nice experience, a busy place but beautiful afternoon celebrating Mother's Day ❤️
I took my daughter out for a proper high tea after they made up their own at Brownies. It isn't cheap by any means, but the decor is beautiful, and the three cheese tart was to die for. The service was also very good.
