I love love loveeeee everything about this place!!!! The food, the friendly staff, the aesthetic of the place - i mean yellow is a bold colour and i was warmly welcomed by my fellow kababayans (fellow filipinos) . I actually live all the way from North isalnd , Central Auckland. I just had to try the famous Halo~halo and most especially my all time favourite back in Philippines —-> Tocilog I used to buy one of those for lunch to work and their Tocilog is the best, feels like just home . I would love to fly back just to taste, not just that, but feel like im in my home town. I highly recommend to all!!! And most especially filipinos all over New Zealand!!!’ Definitely worth the money! 10/10 recommend

Super lovely little cafe! Went there for some coffee and cake. The cake was a little dry but still alright, not too many complaints, and the coffee was very strong and very good!!!!!! The staff were very welcoming and lovely and the pricing was great as well - definitely not expensive.
I would love to come back sometime to try the restaurant food and to have another coffee! :-)
Amazing atmosphere and the food - delicious!!! Highly recommended.
Went for a drive around the block and saw this place and noticed they had a lunch special so popped in to check it out. Glad I did. Very friendly staff, delicious food and reasonably priced. To top it off the coffee was excellent. Will definitely be coming back.
I'd just like to congratulate the sensational team at Chillax for a faultless and fabulous Sunday dining experience. My mother loved every morsel of her first encounter with your fresh and flavoursome Filipino dishes and every mouthful was exquisite. Your chef is an asset to your exceptional eatery and the young lady who served us our meals was a charming delight. This wonderful individual not only meticulously went over the menu with us explaining every dish in detail but also took the effort to change the beautiful Philippine music the cafe was playing for a compilation of classic Western hits for my senior mother. This was a very professional and thoughtful gesture and evidence of impeccable hospitality. Philippine cuisine is certainly less well known compared with other Asiatic options in our city but one can become infectiously hooked and addicted to it's unique and palate pleasing powers. The pata, though we did not order this, is an iconic dish which is to die for. The sweet succulent pork meat literally falls of the bone and marvelously melts in ones mouth. And If you just want a quaint little pad for a Sunday cuppa, these guys make lovely coffees and have an exciting selection of delicious looking cabinet food. An experience to be repeated.
The meal was suggested by the young woman behind the counter as I hadn't tried Filipino food before. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Just a tiny cafe but worth a visit if you are in Stanmore Rd at lunchtime. The staff are so welcoming and helpful.
Been here a couple of times and have enjoyed their hefty serving of Crispy Pata, Silogs and their other vegetable-heavy ulams. Lady out front is very nice and so was her partner who served us last time. Decent prices and a cozy space, Crispy Kare-kare is a must try if you're feeling like trying something different :)
I like to read the Google maps reviews before I dine at an unfamiliar restaurant & the reviews for this place were great. Having never tried Filipino food before I was intrigued to discover what it was like. We were warmly greeted on arrival & given menus. All the mains are reasonably priced at $15-20. I ordered off the 'weekend special' menu which was available in addition to the regular menu. I ordered Laing which is curried taro leaves with pork & coconut. My kid ordered deep fried pork hock. Both dishes came with garlic rice on the side. The proprietor asked me if I would like to sample the laing before I ordered it as it is not to all customers tastes but when she brought out the sample I found it delicious. It reminded me of spinach curry & the garlic rice went perfectly with it. There were small pieces of pork in the dish but the bulk of it was leaves and coconut curry. The deep fried pork hock was absolutely delicious. It was covered in perfect crackling. We just pulled the meat off the bone with our fingers. Filipino food is not widely available outside the Filipino community & it was a pleasure to find this interesting restaurant & its genuinely caring staff. Can't wait to come back next time we're in chch.
Our number 1 place to go to for Filipino Food. Affordable and scrumptious food.
