I recently hosted a dinner party at this wonderful Italian restaurant, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Our party of 15 was treated to a remarkable evening, and I'm thrilled to leave a 5-star review to share our delight with others.
The food was nothing short of exquisite, with each dish showcasing the authentic flavours of Italy. The customer service was top-notch, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure our party felt welcomed and attended to.

A delicious dinner and lovely ambiance. The staff were happy to cater to my request of a gnocchi as a starter. I was torn between the lamb and the gnocchi and didn't want to give up on one of them. Thankfully I was able to try both and very much enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend.
A quick early dinner. Excellent bruschetta and the ravioli was very good but a few bits were a little dry around the edges but not too bad. The sauces were very good. Lovely staff.
I've been back four times while working down here, working thru the pasta selection. All made fresh and tastes amazing. Tried their Giovanni's special pizza and was blown away. Great base nice selection of toppings and cooked perfectly. Trying the 5 hour slow cooked lamb shank next time.

I came to this restaurant after making a reservation and on arriving was quickly seated and introduced to a menu with a range of choices. The antipasto was served after a mere 15 minutes, shortly followed by dinner. Food was abundant, delicious and well worth the price, with a reliable classic style of preperation. The building is brightly decorated in a very patriotic manner and situated in a bustling uptown region. Very helpful albeit small staff were polite and cheery all evening, and when asked about their beautiful vintage piano were very conversational and inviting. On the evening I dined it was very quite but I understand that it is often quitr busy here. Only complaint of note is that it took a few tries to get a reservation due to sick staff, but this is minor and out of the management's control. Overall an excellent experience, I would dine again.
Highly recommended! We traveled from Waiheke on vacation and our last night we had dinner at Giovanni's. What a good idea! The starters and main courses were delicious! very tasty. We finish with some perfect desserts. Haneka was lovely to us. We will definitely go back!
Very enjoyable vegetarian meal. Very tasty and well prepared. Will definitely come back again. Portion size is generous so I am having to sit extra 10 minutes and write this review. :)
Really great service, friendly and welcoming team who greeted us when we arrived, quickly had us seated and a drink ordered. They have a separate vegan menu, which is really awesome. We had the vegan Italian bread with dips while waiting for secondi. The lasagna, which my husband had, takes 25 mins to cook, as they don’t use a microwave, so there’s was ample time for us to have a drink and enjoy the bread, which was delicious. Husband enjoyed his lasagna, and I absolutely loved my gnocchi tartufoil, the Napoli sauce was so tasty. I really enjoyed coming here and will be recommended it to friends and family. Grazie mille.
We had a fantastic meal, very tasty. The staff were very helpful and efficient at their job. The owner was very friendly and attentive. We always visit this restaurant when we are in Christchurch and are very happy each time we've been. Keep up the good work!!
