Wow!! What a dinner!! The food was amazing! We had the seafood chowder, blue cod and bacon and my favourite.. the best Polenta chips ever. I would recommend Portside to anyone living or visiting Oamaru.

Lovely service and the menu with interesting choice, quite different from the usual stuff around. Two of us had the sea bass which we both found a little dry and maybe overcooked. I would return. Our guests were delighted with their meals. Not cheap.
My partner and I came here on our way home from Christchurch on Sunday the 6th of April. From opening their really awesome door to getting back in the truck, I really really enjoyed everything about this place. I had the Whiskey beef and my partner had the Lamb, what amazing meals!! Not a thing wrong with any of them! My beef was cooked perfect and my partner's lamb the same!!! Will definitely be back!!
We had our wedding reception here in January. Originally we were going to be at Fleur's Place in Moeraki but after the most disgusting treatment we had ever received from any business we were on the hunt for a new venue. Well luckily we found Portside because the service we received from them was beyond all expectations. Cherelle is amazing, she was so obliging, nothing was a problem. The food was spectacular the service impeccable. I would recommend anyone wanting a fantastic meal in the area definitely try Portside. Stay away from Fleur's Place. Terrible service and expensive overrated food. Thank you Portside, you made our day!
Very pleasantly surprised by the great places to eat in Oamaru. Great food, awesome setting - I managed to get a table facing the ocean and away from the other diners, so you feel like you're just eating by yourself on the beach! Service was good, attentive but not in your face. Had the salmon bouillabaisse and a glass of merlot as the light faded outside. Lots of shellfish and prawns in a fantastic tomato based soup. Gorgeous way to end the day, and if you're keen you can even head over next door to see the little blue penguins come home for the night.
