I'd definitely recommend staying here especially if you want to take a break from a long drive. Beautiful clean lodge with great beds to rest your weary heads at night. The only little thing was the heating last night was off leaving a cold lounge and bedroom. I called reception and they were onto it straight away by bringing us a heater for our room. Thank you so much. Lovely staff, we finished off by having a yummy breakfast before heading up to Whakapapa ski fields. Hi five. 😊 Thanks

I came for brunch 2 days in a row with my friends. There were about 8-9 of us. The food was delicious. The yummiest waffles I've had. The service was super friendly and they were really onto it. A few of us also commented how quickly they got us our drinks and food. Thank you for having us and we'll be back next time we are down.

A backpacker lodge that felt like a hotel. Good customer service, spacious rooms, awesome mattress, well fitted kitchen and location was great.

Gorgeous little Cafe and private, cute nook and crannies to hide yourself away if you waned to. Popular with the locals. Attached to a fabulous lodge too! Staff are friendly and efficient.

This place is great. The cost is very affordable. The rooms are fine nothing extravagant, but the service is awesome. The cafe is delicious and highly recommend a hokey pokey milkshake. There is a really nice new hot tub (2 actually) and very clean sauna. Both were delightful when the weather was frightful. Lastly, I left my phone on the couch in the cafe. An employee tracked down a contact on the phone to determine whose phone it is. Then she emailed me to let me know that I had left. Lastly, she charged the battery and express mailed it to me the next day. That's the best lost and found service I have ever had. Thank you LKNZ folks!

I normally come here when I am looking for fairly cheap accommodation when going to Mt Ruapehu. I usually book online so I get an idea of real time room availability. They also do it by the bed. There are a few different areas here which are different prices. You have options of private or shared rooms/bathrooms, as well as options of family rooms or bunk beds. The prices do include linen and towels. The rooms and bathrooms are usually quite tidy and clean. They also have amenities such as a drying room, laundry room and bike storage shed. Also had free Wifi. It is located in the main Ohakune area so it is within walking distance to the restaurants and the New World nearby. They also have a spa as well as a cafe on site. I normally arrive late at night and usually don't have issues getting into the room after arriving. It is quite a nice place to sleep if you're able to get a booking.

Amazing service! This is what hospitality is all about. We arrived just as they were closing, fiends for some quick food. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in giving advice about good local eateries. The thick shakes were also very much enjoyed!

We turned up late and they still made room for us. Our queen room was super clean, comfortable and quiet. Great value at $99 including en suite and basic kitchen facilities. Highly recommend this place. Very friendly and helpful new owners !
