It’s all pretty quiet on the street around town on a Tuesday night. However it seems half the town half packed into this restaurant, it was buzzing. There’s both indoor up front & outdoor seating out the back. Feels quite cozy with a fire going out back. The steaks were not bad here. The boys all seem to go for the 500g T-bone or Op Rib. My smaller eye fillet was good for the price. Overall think everyone enjoyed their dinner.
We came last Friday night for a birthday celebration. Our waiter was just lovely and so attentive!
While on the pricey side, the meals are to a high standard, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, so one doesn't mind digging deep on these occasions!
I appreciated the seperate gluten free menu. Care was also taken with one of our groups other dietary requirements.
If I may make one polite suggestion, it would be to have the mushroom sauce a little more chunky!

Went out for dinner here last night, was blown away by the food, it was beautiful! Everything about it lovely and the overall dining experience was amazing!

Went to Aberdeen on Broadway for dinner last night, walked in from the cold and the fire was going, cozy and warm. Loved the food here, wow! Dishes were well presented and very tasty, perfectly seasoned and delicious, didn’t need to reach for the salt. Will definitely go back!
We had the market fish of the day and the chicken. Ended our meal with the trio of ice-creams.
Polite service. Despite that the food is extremely expensive the food was in my opinion to die for. I wouldn’t usually go for what I got, but it was one out of two options they had that had chicken 😂 but it was delicious 😋. The appetisers took about 15 mins and our main took about 1hour later but that’s because someone in our table got the steak that took 35 mins to cook 😂 the desert was honestly one of the best sticky date puddings I have had ! I also got a lemon lime and bitters drink which was only $4.50 😍 and it was not to be dramatic, amazing.
Would definitely go back, so RIP to my bank account.
I don't often give out 5s but in all honesty fantastic. Great service, great atmosphere and the best damn lamb I've ever had. My only mistake was to get an entree as they were huge as was my meal. Pricing is what you would expect for an establishment like this so because of this they don't lose points. If you're in Palmy check this place out.

My mum and went for dinner last night 26/05/17. The service was outstanding from front of house to the waitress. The meals were spot on and delicious and presently very well. This was my first time as I live in the Waikato. We ordered the bruschetta, calamari, bluff oysters for starters and entrees, pork belly and 200g eye fillet - these were cooled to perfection. Definitely no room for dessert. The only slight down fall was where we were sitting there was quite a draft from where it appeared an old opening was out the back and the lighting was not so good to read the menu. Other than that we could not fault. Totally recommend this place. Thank you.

Always great food and service here! Ordered the steak and sides. The sides did come out a bit later than the meal but the service and quality of food made up for it!
Lovely service and atmosphere. We got scotch fillet, lambs 3 ways and pork ribs. You won't be disappointed.! Great kitchen staff and wonderful chefs! Entrees were yummy too! Thank you team! The staff knew we were celebrating birthday and the free desserts made us a big surprise! Pretty funny thing was our familiar friends had the table beside us but we did not notice that until we saw them in our pictures! We believe everyone will love Aberdeen!
Wow wow wow wow wow. Just an amazing meal. Took my relatives who were visiting NZ to this place and they have never had a steak so good in their life (and they've been to a lot of countries!). Service was lovely and I loved the atmosphere of everything. Garlic bread was tasty, pate was divine, lamb was the best lamb I've had to date. We polished everything off of our plates.
My husband and I Went for dinner I had the 200gm eye fillet cooked blue and I also had au gratin potatoes and of course garlic butter to tell you the truth everything was cooked perfectly. Everyone was very friendly and helpful 🙂 Briar was our sever and she went out of her way to help . This was the second time here and again I wasn't disappointed. Keep up the great work and I'll see you again. Oh yeah the garlic bread is also very yummy 😋
Wonderful experience. It was the first place we had a meal as a family in Palmerston North, since arriving and it did not dissappoint.
Ive been in hospitality for 15 years, both as Sous chef of a 5 star boutique hotel and manager of a very popular seaside Restaurant in Jeffeys Bay, South Africa. And Aberdeen was truly a great decision.
I always hammered it into my staff, that a restaurant is about exprience, not JUST about the food.
- Greeted upon arrival with a smile.
- Taken to a great table infront of their fireplace
- Waiter attentative and friendly, and just the right amount, not to the point of being bothersome.
- the food.. just... wow.
- the food arrived perfectly spaced out.
- the Aberdeen Reserve Syrah was Great with their 500g Bone on Ribeye with Truffle butter.

This was the first time my husband and I had eaten at Aberdeen, and we were very happy with the service and the food.
Our waitress was friendly and helpful, she explained the specials well and allowed us extra time to look at the menus.
Our drinks were delivered quickly.
The food was excellent, and came out in great time. I couldn’t finish my meal because of how filling it was. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and was incredibly moist. I’m not a huge mashed potato eater, but the garlic mash was delicious.
We would happily come back again.

The service was great although the lady who looked after us did forget the colouring pencils for the little guy. But she reminded us that we did forget to order for the little guy.
The food was really good but wished I had more salad and the duck fat potatoes were more crunchy. There’s no salt or pepper grinders on the table and it wasn’t even offered.
Needs a bit more finessing to the smaller details but overall am happy with the place.
Great special watermelon cocktail although it’s on the sweeter side more than sour, but it’s my personal preference.
I’d definitely come back here again.
First dinner date out in nearly two years after our daughter was born! We booked here and were not disappointed! The service by Eleanor was real and inviting.

Great experience last night. My partner has her steak blue and I have mine rare, and for once we actually got what we asked for. Slim chance of getting that anywhere else in town, and we'd know.
Food was out of this world, service was top notch and a definite must visit if in Palmy.
Such a beautiful restaurant, very spacious so you don't feel crowded also loved the fireplace! All the staff we interacted with were friendly and amazing, especially our main waitress (didn't catch the name but she had red hair). When asked if we were the celebrating, we'd mentioned we were celebrating my new job and just before desert she brought out a little plate to congratulate me! Such a thoughtful gesture and very much appreciated. Overall the cocktails were amazing, food was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing and the staff were great too 😊
