I thought it odd when I saw the "please do not feed the birds" sign posted on the wall, but that was before witnessing some sparrows nonchalantly helping themselves to customer's leftovers. Anyway, the chips here are awesome, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They also offer $2.50 coffees and hot chocolate.
We really enjoyed the vegetarian burger, salad and peri peri fries. The extra hot sauce is superb and a treat accompaniment.
If you're a vegetarian/looking for some spicy food, then this is a place for you.
There's a lunch & dinner special here at NZD 9.9 and NZD 14.9 which offers good value for money. However, we felt that the quantity of servings served for the specials was lesser than what we have seen at other outlets, so be wary about it.
Otherwise, a fine outlet with good service.
Believe it or not, in all my travels around the world, this is the first place I tasted a Nandos burger and have fallen in love since. We ate here on Christmas Day, as there weren’t too many options available. Will remember it for the rest of my life.
I love the fact that these guys open for breakfast unlike all the Nandos's in Auckland. Good work guys! love the breakfast menu :-)
But i have to say, the service was average when i was there 3 weeks ago. I remember coming in 1 1/2 years ago when it was run by Fijians (not fijian indians - ethnic fijians) and the service at that time was beyond awesome. Friendiest service i've ever received at any Nandos branch.
To be fair, when i say the service was 'average', it is average compared to what i experienced last time i was there. But still a lot better than the New Lynn and Mount Eden branch.
We love Nandos in Rotorua..ultra modern and clean...bathrooms really clean - yay.
The food is delish, atmosphere awesome, staff so friendly, love that its licensed, kids love it. Have been to other Nandos restaurants (eg Mt Maunganui--quite the opposite)...I guess it definitely comes down to the franchise owners. They have done a brilliant job in Rotorua!! Not often that you can say the tables were spotless, the chairs clean, floor clean and all our glasses were sparkly clean..good on you.
The atmosphere is so warm and cosy as is the staff. Great service and ymmuy food. It's such a pleasure to eat here. I'll go back again and again and again....you get the drift!!! Well done to the team at Nandos keep up the great work :D
What can I say? Fantastic in all aspects, as soon as we came in we got great customer service and the food was great, some of the best chicken I've ever had!the restaurant is ultra modern and very nice staff. We will definitely be going there again!

Nando never disappoint , their chicken is so tender and tasty. If they put more effort into the side dishes, they will be more successful. The fries are not too good? But they are called a chicken restaurant for a reason
Nice, modern decoration with relaxed environment and serving good food. Staffs are friendly.
The food was delicious as always, atmosphere was lovely & the service was excellent. We especially want to say thank you to the staff for their friendliness and being so accommodating especially dining in with our 3 young children. We will visit again next time we are in Rotorua.
Went there for a late lunch with a colleague, we ordered a plate of chips between us and a few drinks, $9 for the chips and they were great, neither of us was too hungry so it was the perfect amount. Rest of the menu looked great so I will be going back for sure, quick service too, tons of tables to pick from.

"How grilled chicken should be!"
Peri-peri is a chain restaurant that offers great grilled chicken cooked according to your desired spicy level.
What really sells it for me is their attention to the quality of their food. They marinate their chicken for atleast 24 hours before grilling and they cook it just right, avoiding the chicken to get dry.
Their Rotorua, New Zealand branch has a great ambience just like any other Peri-peri restaurant. Its clean, bright, and well ventilated.
A whole chicken with with one large side costs $32.50. You can have half and half flavors which is great. Their whole chicken is roughly 8 slices which feeds up to 2-3 hungry hungry hippos!
Advice: get the non-spicy flavors for the chicken, they've got sauces on the side that you can get which they also use for cooking. This way you can control as to how spicy your chicken will be and not ruining the whole experience if by getting the hottest level.
Why the 4 stars? They dont have enough staff. It was dinner rush when we got there and they only got 1 front of house staff which also doubles as a waiter and cashier. This just tells something about the management. This also puts too much pressure on that one staff and increases the chances of subpar performance. A 5-star restaurant should not just have good food but also should have good management.
This was a really nice place to come for our tea. I had a vegetarian burger and chips and it was very tasty. The atmosphere was fun and colourful with great art and so it was a really nice experience. They had plenty of food options to choose from, lots of drinks and everything seemed clean.
It's very tasty, jucy Peri Peri chicken, especially with sauces. Those who like spicy will enjoy it. I enjoyed it and it's a nice ambiant restaurant, especially those who love spicy food.
nando's is the home of the best chicken for me. lots of nice flavour and aroma. we love the different levels of spiciness of their sauces. spacious and cosy ambiance.
took good 30 minutes before they served our order though.only 2 staff on and im not sure if they are prioritizing uber orders than dine-in customers.
A very welcoming eatery in the heart of Rotorua. The service was quick and everything we ordered was delivered with a smile.

If I could rate higher I would. Absolutely wonderful visit to Rotorua branch today, the 2 staff members were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, cooked to perfection and so tasty and succulent. Could not have asked for a better experience and feel their hospitality exemplary to all in the industry.
