Amazing restaurant. This is a must visit if you are in the area or staying in Taupo. Staff are very friendly and while it can be busy our table was regularly visited and drinks refreshed. Chef knows what they are doing as was able to accommodate our parties dietary requirements.

The food was delicious and they treated us real nicely. The waitress was very kind and explained us what the plates were for us being foreigners and have a lot of patience with us. We enjoyed it a lot!!!

Seriously good food! Highly recommend Beetroot & goat cheese salad, pork dumplings in chili oil broth and cumin spices lamb meatballs. So delicious that we’re going back tomorrow to try some things we couldn’t fit in tonight! Lovely, highly attentive staff. Great wine and beer selection. Nice outdoor patio and lawn games.

The Hare & Copper is an amazing establishment. Delicious food with carefully arranged flavour and presentation. We had the Popcorn Chicken, Beetroot Salad and Sauteed Prawns - all incredible. The sauteed prawns were a particular highlight. The sauce was so good we drank the whole bowl 😍 The atmosphere is very cozy, with thematic decorations and a beautiful view of the lush outdoor area. The staff were lovely and very helpful, allowing us to try on different sizes of the shirts they sell. I would highly recommend the Hare & Copper - the only downside was no dessert at lunchtime!

Me and my mom and dad really enjoyed the food such lovely staff as well they know how to make their customers eyes light up with delicious food and drinks we were in NZ for a holiday from Australia and I highly recommend going there for lunch or dinner xxxx

Hands down one of the best places we’ve eaten. Hosts were very accommodating, beautiful atmosphere and most of all great food. Hoping our pictures can do some justice!

We stopped here on our way through town and LOVED the meal! This is tapas-style done very well. I also had an amazing margarita. They were able to squeeze us in without a booking which was much appreciated as they were very busy. The service was a bit slower than we’re used to but I think they were just booked solid, so it’s as expected. Very friendly staff, cute aesthetic, and overall would recommend.

Wow! What a hidden gem. Definitely worth the short drive from Taupo. Chef Andrew and his wife Lily are such a delight to talk to. Chef Andrew creates unique dishes bursting with flavor. We had spiced cauliflower, sautéed prawns, roast pork belly, popcorn chicken and Thai beef rib eye. All were my favorites.

We really enjoyed our meal here ! This place is so well located with a beautiful terrace next to a garden with giant chess games, it’s really calm and peaceful ! As for the food, our favorites were definitely the beetroot salad with the nice mint/lime dressing, the jalapeño poppers and the prawns… The beef plate was close from top 3 with his amazing side of asian slaw and the chicken was good but not our favorite (maybe a bit too sweet for our taste but still a very interesting combination of flavors..! )

We had two amazing dinners at the Hare & Copper Eatery during our recent visit to the area. This is a beautiful location to unwind at the end of a day skiing and enjoy a fabulous meal. The kids loved their meals, and for the adults there is an extensive tapas menu. I tried two dishes, both of which were packed with amazing flavour, albeit a little on the spicy side for my palate! The staff are amazing and made us feel welcome. Will make a point of dining here whenever we're in the area.
