Love that the vegan options are listed separately, makes it so much easier. Yummy biriyani and spice levels are bang on. Plus they are so lovely and friendly.
Slightly gutted I already had already been to the bakery for a fill. But I still had room for a mango lassi! Owner was super cheerful and was happy to make one to go. Straight up the best thing to have on a hot day. #mangolassiforever #thick 😍😍😍
Their goat Dhaka curry was exquisite! I’ve had a few curries in my life but have to say it was the best! Couple that with friendly service, very reasonable prices and you can’t go wrong. Had it with the Kereru Resonator IPA - beer brewed in the Hutt! Never tried that before but even beat my favourite Panhead!!!
Food was excellent, we had a variety of food as there was 9 of us, so we all sampled each other's food. We ordered the bread platter, which there was alot & would recommend for 2 people to share. For those that dont like spicey u can get the mild options for most of the dishes. Mango lassi was yum, however dessert was disappointed as not much variety & the price u pay is abit much for the amount u pay. The mango dessert was lovely, but small. I would dine here again. Restaurant is situated on 1 of the main roads in newtown, so easy access to public transport & parking. Downfalls is the toilet is situated up the stairs & thru the kitchen. Also im not sure if they had highchairs for babies, not the biggest restaurant, so pays to book in advance! Friendly service.

I love going to Curry Heaven for lunch; their cheap deals make it very good value for money. And the staff are always friendly and accommodating.
I think my favourite dishes are probably the Malabari and Saagawala. Definitely try this place out if you can!
Our fave Indian takeaway! I order the pasanda, partner orders the butter chicken. The boss is lovely and we have a good relationship with him. Up there as our number one option for Indian takeaway.
By far the best Indian food in Wellington, owned by a beautiful hospitable family. I have eaten at least 10 dishes here - lamb, chicken, beef and vegetarian. I have never had a bad dish. They are all so incredibly flavoursome compared to other mediocre Indian restaurants around. Currently eating a "kiwi hot" (75%) lamb nawabi for lunch as I write this. $10, large and super tasty. Go here!
Frnd recommends curry here strongly, so my flatmate and me decided to have dinner. Friendly stuff good service, also gave us some advice on food. I ordered chicken masala, tasted very good, better than downtown. Good place to have curry.
Had takeaways from here many times. Good pricing and always enjoy my meal! Usually get the butter chicken or chicken korma - so good! Staff are really friendly and meals always come out fast - within ten minutes.

My kids, grandchildren and I enjoyed a tasty meal here tonight. The Lamb Jalfrezi was the best I have ever tasted and the Goat Special was also delightful. This small restaurant could easily be overlooked but the simplicity of it adds to the charm. The service was friendly and welcoming. They do not have a liscence so bring your own, or just go for a really good curry and go out for drink later!!

We received a friendly welcome and very fast service. The owner himself came out to check on us during our meal. The space is intimate and the food.. Omg, we left full to the brim with delicious perfectly spiced dishes.
Would definitely recommend for anyone who has dietary requirements as they are labeled on the menu.

This might look like a tiny restaurant, but it has the most fabulous food and great atmosphere. We love it here. Their specialty curries are absolutely delicious. The gorgeous lady in charge is always charming and helpful. Support this business - it's part of the heart of Newtown and contributes to the vibrancy of this dynamic part of town. We make the 1 hour trip from where we live across town to this restaurant, and then shop at the second hand bookstores and buy vegetables at cheapest greengrocer in Wellington. Curry Heaven is simply the best!
Stopped in for lunch. A lovely tasty menu and at a great price. Quick service and almost wanted to lick the plate, it was so good. 👍😁

I have always enjoyed the tastes of this place.
Ambient, friendly, beyond local Newtown, and so deliciously enjoyable food.

Love this place! The food is always amazing. Great vegan and vegetarian options. The staff are lovely and you can tell they care a lot about their food. Highly recommend the Cheese Garlic Naan - one of the best around and big enough for two people.
