What a treat! Absolutely amazing street food. Get a quick incredibly flavourful snack/dinner for $10 or $15. Took me longer to enter my pin than it took for her to cook up my quesadilla! Cannot even begin to explain how tasty it was. Definitely the queen of tacos. Great service, incredibly tasty food served in record time. 10/10 recommend 🌮🌯❤️

This tiny lit his tiny little shop provides some great street good! The service was friendly and prompt, and the tacos had excellent flavor. I would recommend stopping here if you're craving some Mexican!
This place has really good street food and is great for a quick bite. The food is filling and cheap and it's entertaining that you get to watch the lady make your food before you eat. It's hot, fast, tasty and the women are very friendly and nice.
Chanced upon this little place while walking down Courtenay place. What a lovely coincidence! Ordered the chicken burrito which was served with sour cream, salad and a warm smile. The chicken was marinated perfectly and the hot salsa sauce just right. Highly recommend this place!
Taco Queen is a great little hole in the wall eatery for food on the go or when you have only a few moments to yourself. I've had the burrito, tacos and quesidillas over the last couple of weeks. I have to say the food is delicious! Beautifully soft tortillas ( not supermarket grade!) crisped to perfection all wrapped around spiced Mexican rice, stewed meat and a smattering of cheese and crispy fresh salad. I would recommend adding the creamy guacamole to it too. The mild and medium are not very hot. Will have to up my game next time. The standard size meal is suprisingly light yet filling due to the fact that it is cooked on a hot plate with little oil. The extra refried beans are quite heavy so approach with an empty stomach. The ambience is great too. There's something wholly satisfying about being fully emersed in a meal while the whole world chatters and bustles around you. The food demands your attention amigo! The best part is the lovely Taco Queen herself. What a charmer!

Gluten free beef tacos were wolfed down by Mr 12yr old, very impressed that they were hand made and cooked in front of us. He had a full tummy, so doggy bagged most of the second one, only to open the bag and eat the rest before we'd walked far as it was "too yummy to keep until it was cold"!
My pork burrito was excellent - the home made hot sauce was great, spicy and perfect on the pork. Mum had the chicken burrito and loved that too. 7yr old daughter hate a plain cheese quesadilla and loved it - in fact all four meals were entirely eaten by each of us, with no offers to share. Add four mexican softdrinks to wash it down and the bill came to a shade over $60....great value!
All this was topped off with fantastic friendly service. As a bunch of indecisive tourists, with one fussy eater and one with food allergies, we can be difficult when ordering, but we were welcomed, helped, and then entertained with warm and genuine conversation by the Queen herself!
Thoroughly recommended - we will be back ... and make sure you get the guacamole!
Delicious! I ordered vegetarian tacos with refried beans, and they were great. Super filling and they were ready pretty quickly.
They also do delivery online or a message and pick up as well.

Taco Queen is my favorite Mexican joint in wellington. Amazingly friendly service (have no idea what that other review was about) and the food is fast! TQ makes all her own sauces and even makes her own corn chips which are EPIC to say the least. I have tried everything on the menu, and have to say the tacos are the best. The nachos come in at a close second, but really everything is amazing.
Its a little hole in the wall that produces some excellent Mexican takeaway. Portion sizes are great, flavors are good and the service quick.
For a one person operation the queen does a great job!
There is just simply not enough hole in the wall places like this where you can get fresh hot Mexican food. burritos are an absolute hit add extras to it you won't be disappointed solid 10/10
pretty tasty food, however I do wish it was tastier. more spice and more pico del gallo would make it more delish! perhaps you could also offer a chilli sauce range where I can choose between 1 and 5 on the spice rating and that determines how hot the sauce is? either way, Taco Queen is an absolute character- always keen for a laugh, big personality and is always up for a laugh. nice work TC
Best street style tacos in the city, and everything is made in house. Come here for a more traditional/rustic style street taco, not for a poorly executed 'gourmet' micro taco that the city seems to be flooded with.
She really knows her South American flavors and I like the fact she doesn't deviate from those with some weird NZ version.
