The vibe- amazing. Didn't feel like we were in Wellington at all. They really captured the feel of tucked away restaurants overseas.
The hospitality- fantastic and charismatic. The waiter was engaging and friendly, and also had the patience of an absolute saint while hanging out with/looking after a couple of girls on the next table who had a bit much to drink.
The food- 10/10. My girlfriend and I left the restaurant full to bursting and still had leftovers. Everything was beautifully cooked and delicious.

Been here several times since it opened. Handy place if going to the movies at the Embassy. Love the down home atmosphere, staff that don't take it all to seriously, the menu and the food. Meals are substantial and price-wise, they're on a par for similar places around Wgt. The music and the decor provides plenty of atmosphere. Fun to try food tat's not normally on (mine at least) repertoire of groceries.
Me and my partner went here last night for dinner. There is a platter option available where you can get different portions of four meals. My partner chose ostrich and a lamb stew, I chose a vegan stew and some black bean parties. I have never tasted anything like this. We were both extremely happy with our meals. The service was wonderful and very fast. Definitely a cool place to go if you're looking for something different as well as delicious. Also! They have crocodile on the menu!
Great vibes, friendly people, decent portions and overall good food. Would highly recommend. Like a previous reviewer has mentioned, it fills a niche gap and offers food that you won't likely find elsewhere in Wellington.
As well as single dishes, they offer group platters which offer a good variety of things to try. Have been there several times now and leave satisfied every time.
Afrika.... I definitely felt like I was getting a genuine African experience. This was my first time in Wellington along with my friend. I must say the décor was incredible right down to the map on the table.The staff were extremely friendly and an absolute pleasure to deal with. They recommended the South African wines which worked perfectly with the amazing cuisine we had.Me and my friend decided to go for their platter and feeling a bit adventurous we decided to go for the Crocodile Tail Kebabs, Ostrich Steaks, Goat Curry and Vege Maafe. I must say I have tried African food a few times but nothing had compared and probably never will. Each dish left you wanting more even though the portions were more than enough. There is no way I could choose a favourite out of the four and neither could my friend.If your new to Wellington or down for a holiday this is a must!!!! Plus they change into a bar/club later on if your in the mood.
Great atmosphere, Great food, Great experience!. I wandered into Afrika with a couple of friends one evening after hearing the African music playing outside. Myself and my friends shared an Afrika platter and really enjoyed every bit of it. It was great value for money and we loved trying the various flavors. The staff were really friendly and explained the dishes to us really well. There was a really fun atmosphere about the place and nice to try something different. Will definitely be back!
A super friendly chap at the door invited us in and told us that we should order the mixed platter. Im so glad we did, the food was excellent and we got to try an array of dishes. The atmosphere is quirky and fun and the service was quick and warm. Will definitely be back :)
Awesome food, staff and atmosphere. My favourite is the chicken wings. Dad likes the lamb stew. Dancing until late in the weekends. Recommended!
Been meaning to visit this place when it opened up but never had the chance. Now that I have, I think I've missed out. One of the best places I have been to in Wellington, amazing food and awesome service! Will definitely go back!

Popped in for lunch just as it was opening, very cheerful owner! $10 lunch good value! Choice of stews and curries, had the spicy goat curry yum.
Interior feels like you are in an authentic African eatery, plus there were dominos and scrabble on the table. Music was great!
Maybe not for those accustomed to more contemporary restaurants but well worth it for a unique dining experience
One of my favourite places to dance! The staff are so lovely and the music is so hypnotic. It's not a huge space so it never feels overcrowded. You just have to stop there on a night out I promise you won't regret it.
Very friendly service the food was to die for. We got a platter to try everything. Warning watch for the spicey goat it will knock your socks off
