Visiting from the US we had read all the reviews and wanted to try. Warm and friendly greeting. Matt our server was outstanding. He gave us full details on all the offerings and the wine. We decided on the fish and shrimp noodles with chili sauce which were cooked perfectly and had a nice amount of heat. We opted for two mains, the lamb rump with whipped feta and the fish and soba noodles. The fish was butterfish and very good. Said thanks to the team in the kitchen which is open and they were very gracious. We ate at 6:30 which is early they they were full by the time we left. Nice pacing on the food. Recommended!

This is our 4th time coming here. Liberty is one of our favourite restaurants. It's really consistant every time we come and the customer service is great too. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and looked amazing!

If you're looking for a restaurant for a nice meal, with good service, and a relaxed atmosphere, then check out Liberty. We had dinner for four here last night, the service was quietly efficient, no fuss, just good service, the menu was well explained, and the plates arrived in good time, not all together to fill the table, but nicely spaced apart to allow you to enjoy the food, and also time to just chat. The food, was really well constructed - not just the way the feature of the dish was cooked, including the accompaniments - but also from presentation and flavour perspective, some unique combinations. Really well done to the team at this relatively new restaurant.

Really nice food and really well presented but I felt some of the main plates were a bit mean on the serving size compared to the small plates $45 vs $30. One bottle of wine and 5 small and 2 large plates and it was $300 for 4 people which I felt was pretty expensive for what we got.

Beautiful cozy interiors, delicious food with a wine list to match. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Liberty. Our standout dish was the ceviche but we also loved the asparagus. The burrata was quite sweet but still good nonetheless.

This is such an amazing restaurant in Wellington city. Pretty much everything on their menu is worth trying. We ordered duck pate, eggplant, oysters and octopus as starters and lamb as main. Absolute everything we order is tasteful and flavourful. Already plan to pay another visit there for their other amazing plates.

The best dining experience we've had! The food is excellent from starters through to dessert. Not your common everyday fare. The service is top level too. Very friendly staff and seems genuine too, not fake or put on.

I was just walking down Cuba looking for a bite to eat when I realised there was a new restaurant I hadn't noticed before, so of course I had to pop in and check it out. I had a fabulous time. The service was incredible - my waitress was incredibly friendly, kind, and attentive. The staff were very knowledgeable and able to talk me through the vegetarian options and recommend drinks. The food was stunning - I had the cheddar puffs to start - an indulgent, rich entree, and then the ricotta gnocchi as a main, which was a huge portion of delicious gnocchi in a tangy, flavourful sauce, with a generous garnish of fresh basil. The pine nuts incorporated into the dish added a stimulating texture that complemented the soft gnocchi excellently. I also had a delicious Jameson-based cocktail called the Irish Maid that I loved. I was hoping to treat myself to dessert but the main was so huge I couldn't fit anything else in! Overall, one of the best fine dining experiences I have enjoyed in Wellington, and definitely a new jewel of Cuba street. Once again, my compliments to the servers - their service was faultless. My waitress is definitely an asset to her team! I think this is an excellent venue for an intimate date or a family dinner. I will hopefully be returning with a friend soon to treat her to a birthday dinner (if I can persuade her to let me pay!)
