Went here over the 2012-2013 New Years period, the place was pretty busy but ordered our pizza's anyway and I was really impressed with the customer service and the food, theres nothing worse than a pizzaria who are stingy on toppings and charge an arm and leg but Dino's is sweet, they do charge a premium price but I think its worth it. Pizzas took about 20-30mins but we knew about the wait time before we ordered.

Overall a satisfying experience.
Having a craving for pasta we decided to go here to see what they had to offer. The lasagna was a bit of a let down as it wasn't as cheesy as you would expect a nice comforting lasagna to be but tasted good with lots of layers of pasta. The spaghetti marinara was rather nice with aldente pasta that appeared home made. The sauce was rich but not overpowering and it was a nice point of difference to have cockles (which came in abundance) in amongst the seafood.
People at the neighbouring tables had the chicken salad which also looked delightful.
The prices were very reasonable and we left satisfied. I would definitely go back for the spaghetti or even to try the salad!

Had a most excellent dinner. Took the 3 kids and staff made us welcome and offered us the option of waiting for a big table or squeezing on to a smaller one. Chose the small table.

3 pastas, 1 pizza and 1 salad. All eaten with gusto and relish.!

Great friendly service and meals came out in just the right amount of time.

Would recommend to anyone wanting a meal in Whitianga.

The service was fantastic, the food terrific. I ordered rigatoni primavera as my main and that was prepared very well. Upon conversation with the wait staff, I suggested that the pasta was a tad bit firm and would have been perfect with a minute more of boiling.

On saying our farewell to the staff and the cook, I noticed that the cook was not smiling and a bit disheartened (possibly due to my small comment). I gathered that they take their service genuinely and that made my day.

Service was excellent (we ordered takeout so first impressions where good).

Doe for the base was fresh ingredients where fresh taste how it should and was made within 15-20 minutes like they said when making the order.

Highly recommend.

Please note we had vegetarian pizzas.

Tasty food, relaxed cosmopolitan atmosphere. Pizza was really tasty. I went two days in a row and had very tasty tacos. The birria was fairly authentic and it had a bit more refined gourmet flavor. Both owners were very friendly and served me with a smile while cracking some jokes. I strongly recommend this place.

I was in Whitianga with my wife for a couple of days and we would eat a burger somewhere. We found Base and we saw the menu inside. No vegan dishes were in the menu and we asked the owner (sorry I do not remember his name) and he proposed a vegan pizza. He cooked two different pizzas, the bases were well cooked and the toppings delicious. He cooked the toppings separately and then dressed the bases. We've very appreciated also the fries. Guaranteed by an Italian vegan. Thank you.

Aargh! My lips are burning but at least my eyes aren't watering. Meanwhile my wife calmly reaches for the last slice. We have just finished "The Reaper", a great Pizza with a fiery finish. If you are visiting Whitianga and fancy Pizza, Base Pizza is the stop you need to make.

We had takeaways tonight, we tried the new burger menu. I can honestly say that was the best burger I've had since we moved from Wellington. When you look around the table and see food on three happy faces, you know it's good! Thanks Henry for bringing burgers to Whitianga!

They may not be running a dine in service at the moment but we’re happy to takeaway when we’re based just five minutes down the road. Our pizzas were super tasty, the standout unsurprisingly being the base - light and fresh. Personally I would have liked a bit more of the Italian sausage but luckily my partner didn’t want her capers so I got an additional topping to supplement my already delicious choice.

I had a great time here tonight. Gluten free options are available (just ask) which my wife appreciated. The kids thought the Korean chicken wings were the best ever. We'll be back 😁

The gluten-free pizza was the absolute best I’ve ever had! Soft, pliable, perfectly cooked and soooo tasty. My partner was verrrry happy with his delicious freshly made pasta. Generous pours of red wine and records playing too. Nice people - great place!

Was in Whitianga for a weekend away with the children from Auckland. First stop was this place to get pizza fix for dinner. The place is child friendly & very entertaining for little ones. Pizza was so delicious that we ended up ordering again the next day (children's request) 🥰
