Interesting place.
Most flavours were great. Tasty and i felt they wete made using good incridients.
Price is reasonable.
Take away place don't expect any luxuries.
Good effort.
Love this place. The vegan slices are delicious and it's awesome that they have quite a range. It can get a little expensive if you are looking to buy a few slices, and while they are great, I wouldn't visit all the time.
Il Buco Tiny Restaurant located in Ponsonby. Been here after my friends suggestion as she recommended that they serve great pizza and hot chocolate. Being Pizza lover i simply loved their pizza. Really good taste simply delicious. I will definitely go there again. Cheap pricing and great food. Staff is really friendly.

Great and cheap place in Ponsonby to stop for a quick bite. Il Buco is TINY, so takeaway is the best option here. You buy pizzas here by the slice, and by slice I mean squares. This really gives you the chance to try a whole lot of options. They have a really good variety and even a vegan option.
I tried the italian sausage, the stuffed mushrooms and the arancini balls. I would suggest you skip the mushrooms (too much garlic) or the arancini or any other side order and just order their pizzas. For $6 a slice, the pizza is more that just value for money. And its delicious - just the right amount of toppings and cheese.
If you are in and around Ponsonby craving pizza, Il Buco is the place you HAVE to visit.

We stumbled upon this place while walking around Ponsonby. It's small but the sign of best pizza in Auckland was enticing.
We tried 4 different pizza slices and the best one for me was 4 cheeses. It has so much flavour and I liked not having a crush. we also had the meatballs, hawaiian and one with mushrooms. They were all good but the meatball pizza was harder to eat because the meatballs would fall off.
The price was reasonable and you can eat in the outside tables or easily take it home. The service we got was great too. She explained how it works, all the different pizza flavours as it was our first time.
There were a few award stickers on the door too and we now know why.
Thank you for your vegan pizza slices because they are soooooo delicious. And your potato croquettes as well. I love pizza and to get a selection of vegan ones to choose from...is just amazing!
This place is on the main strip on Ponsonby road so it's pretty easy to find. Loads of selection when it comes to pizza ! At $6 a piece it's the perfect little stop for something light or heavy depending on how much you want to eat. The pizzas are really tasty and well grilled. We got a little piece just to try this place out and it was well worth the bite.
We got a coffee, Americana slice ($6) and a couple of sides - potato croquette and suplli ($1 each). All were really nice. Staff seem relaxed and chilled, perfectly normally for the Ponsonby atmosphere. I would recommend this place to anyone that loves pizza! 🍕
The best coffee ever. Seriously. I don't know why the taste is that different compared to another cafes but it just beats them all. A lot of vegetarian and extraordinary pizza options. Pizza on thin base and delicious. They do catering as well. Staff is very friendly. I pop into this place every time I appear in Ponsonby.
So great to have delicious vegan pizza offered by the slice! Each one I've tried have been incredible!! So good, great wee pizza bar. The only complaint I have is they sell out too damned fast!! Haha which says one thing - they're delicious. I've been a few times and all the vegan slices have gone :( Sad times for this vegan pizza lover.
Popped in for a quick and easy eat-in lunch, though takeaway appears to be their main trade. We got two pieces of pizza, 3 croquettes and 4 mushrooms for ~$20. Lovely crunchy bases in the pizza with lots of flavor in the toppings. Really good value for money. They were happy to make up one piece gluten free in the flavour I wanted, with a short 10 min wait. Friendly relaxed service. Will return when the pizza cravings come!
Delicious Roman-style pizzas, great value for money. Love the Primavera and the Ortolana pizzas. Prego!

Johnny and his crew make constantly the finest pizzas in New Zealand .The selection is wide and the toppings are made from fresh ingredients.
The authentic imported Italian hot chocolate is wonderful and warming too on a cold winters day

Best good quality pizza in ponsonby, at $6 a slice it's not too cheap but it's also not too expensive after you try it. The house special is the asparagus and brie slice, it redefines pizza. Seriously.
Always a tasty choice with a good selection of vegan pizzas making it difficult to choose sometimes! It is a very tiny place so be prepared to take away if it’s busy.
Every time I’m in Auckland Il Buko is visited a number of times. Really good chat. Get the four cheeses pizza ! Omg there ain’t nothing better!
