Loved it . The bread is soft, The amount of meat and veggie are a lot. Just the right amount of sauce.. Its a huge portion for one person. A must have in Christchurch

We are from Melbourne Australia and we came here few days ago after 2 weeks in NZ and may I start things off by saying THIS IS THE BEST GREEK SOUVLAKI I HAVE EVER EATEN! mind you there are heaps of Greek souvlaki/gyros places in Melbourne but Dimitris does not cut short on taste, amount of meat and veggies and our bread were steaming hot all the way to the last bite! I had to buy a 2nd one for myself that's how bloody good it was!! Typical Aussie I had to eat it with my hands. The plastic forks are a waste but I guess that's how NZ'ers eat!

Come here often for lunch during my work breaks! Obviously they have there busy hours during the day - work breaks etc but the staff there are always extremely fast and trying to get your food to you as fast as they can! Amazing spot in town to grab your meal and go find a lovely spot to sit by the river. Souvlaki’s are always consistent and super tasty! Obviously you just have pita, meat you choose (single, double, triple) then lettuce tomato and there beautiful authentic sauce! I have been visiting Dimitris for over 10 years and have never been disappointed! Thank you for being such an amazing place!!!!

The souvlaki in pita was notable for chunks of tasty meat but then there was just a bit of salad and sauce, overall pretty bland and somewhat hard to eat in the thick pita bread so they give you a fork.

I had been to Dimitris Greek Food in 2003 and was greatly impressed by its great food. I think they moved and I was so happy to have found them in the container mall this time when I came to Christchurch again. I ordered a mixed (lamb and chicken) platter and a pita to share with my daughter. Generous portion and is as delicious as what I had in 2003. It is such a nice dish and I hope I don't need to wait for another 10 odd years to have it again. You have to try it if you go to the re:start container mall, look for the stall with the longest queue. Very, very delicious food. You won't go wrong.

I really enjoyed the falafel with olives and hummus, but 10 minutes later, my tummy was not so happy and I had to dash back to the hotel. Would risk it again as the flavours were good, as long as my hotel was nearby, just in case!

Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!

I have heard lots of things about this place so I was so excited to try it! I must say it taste amazing how ever I was a little disappointed... because the pitta is so thick they then put far to much sauce so it wasn't as enjoyable! When I finally tasted the falafel by it self it was amazing just wish they didn't have so much sauce and the bread was thinner.

The chicken was moist and nice flavour! Like I said early very messy

This is quite possibly the best food I've tasted in a really long time. The double chicken souvlaki is just incomparable with anything else. I'd come back for more but your portion sizes are so big I'm still full! The cost was super cheap too considering what you get.

Low-key spot for a quick bite. The food is good and the meat is properly cooked. I had chicken and lamb platter and both were delicious. One serving of meat may not be enough if you are hungry.

We had a mix meat salad there. It was good in taste and quantity was good. We paid around for 15 nzd for medium size salad. Worthy.. Situated in Riccarton, infront of ANZ Riccarton branch.

Always got this at least once a week. Brought again last night, I have to ask....what's changed? I got mixed chicken & lamb with chilli sauce & extra tizaki (can't spell it!) sauce. The flavours were still there but the lamb was hard & had hardly no tizaki sauce but had extra chilli sauce. So was too chili for me to enjoy. Will give another chance though.

I have to give Dimitris a 5 star approval. Over a large number of years of buying their Greek food I have never been disappointed. The souvelakis are great and you get a really big feed of tasty meats (or vegetarian) salads and sauces. A small place on Riccarton Road so car parking is slightly challenging. Although you may get lucky find an empty car park on the street. I do recommend Dimitris for a great Greek meal and think you will not be disappointed.

What else can I say but.... "Oh my God". Only the best souvlaki I have ever had. Always make sure I drop in to have one or five when in Christchurch. I live in Australia so doesn't happen as often as I would like. Especially over the last year and a bit thanks to COVID. I'm going again for one last double chicken Saturday before I fly home.

Great food. Speedy service. Well priced. I hadn’t been to dimitris for a few years and decided to go for tea this week. I was not let down. The food was cooked right in front of my eyes and was very fresh. I had a chicken souvlaki and it was the perfect size. I still haven’t quite worked out how to eat them without getting the sauces everywhere yet!

Best souvlaki in NZ and if you want a keto friendly option, go for platters. We like lamb best. ♥️
